I have 6 helmets (1 full-face, 2 3/4's (one with and one without headset), and 3 half shells)  All my helmets are DOT or DOT/Snell approved.  I ride solo with either the 3/4  or one of the half shells.  Full face is usually for cold weather. When two-up I always wear the 3/4 with the headset installed. Always wear long pants and motorcycle boots, and generally a jacket of some sort unless the temps start exceeding the 80's.  The better half has two helmets, a full and a 3/4, and always wears appropriate riding attire.  I won't let anyone ride with me that isn't.  No tennis shoes, sandals, flip-flops, shorts, etc. allowed on my bike when it's in motion.   ;)

Him and his better 1/2 are scheduled to be in M/V.
Are you going to be there?
It's a great place to ride and meet some fantastic site members. (even Hoist)

Nolan N102 Flip up with blue tooth. Best Helmet I have ever had.

I second that, jim ordered a 3/4 for Soozie with the Bluetooth, and it's great talking back in forth, with the intercom, well at times it is!!

Got hooked on the modular many years ago with a Nolan. Had to use two hands to lift the front. Changed to HJC with the single latch. Just changed back to the Nolan N-102. Love it.

Ditto.  Maybe two years now.  No complaints about the lid or the system.  At a less-than-complaint level of annoyance would be wearing it on very hot days.

With the face shield open it's ok.  But it's still warm in there.  Had a chance to score the N-Com version of the N42 on eBay cheap a month or so ago.  Got it to try for HOT days and then use the N102 most of the rest of the time (that was the plan).  So far so good.

N42 is a comfortable lid for my head.  A little cooler for the obvious reasons.  Face shield's articulation works very well.  The two lids make a nice 1-2 combination.

Always a full face for me. Safety first, ... I just feel too vulnerable without my chin strap.

No reason to wear a helmet if its not full face. Unless you plan on backing into that car that turns left in front of you.

Looking at some carbon fiber & some composite aramid type lightweight helmets now.  May need to consider robbing a large bank to pay for these wonders of modern science.  They are definitely lighter.

My sister is a coroner. Didn't take long for her to convince me that there is no reason to wear a helmet if its not full face.

98 with 105 degree heat index did it for me...  I wear a FF riding my KLR and a 1/2 riding my SERK.  cooks my brain on the really hot days wearing the FF.
