Corbin solo + solo tour-pac rack
« on: April 27, 2008, 08:03:58 PM »

Just found out my solo tour-pac won't fit with my new Corbin classic solo seat.I know it says it won't fit on their web site, but I didn't research the crap out of it like I userally do before I had the dealer order it for me while they had the bike this winter. Not close enough to modify the seat.Maybe can move the front cross piece on the rack back, but hate to screw it up & find out it's not a good combo. Was wondering if anyone has done this?? Might have a new solo seat for sale.Nice feature on the new seat is the key lock to secure the seat.

I've done it.  I had Corbin make up the seat to fit.  They actually carved some foam off the back of the seat.  I rode to Hollister with a mustang seat ( the solo tourpack works with a Mustang seat) from my old Road King and had them build the seat.  Even then I wanted the tour pack back as far as I could get it.  You can redrill the mounting plate screws ($20.00 at a machine shop) and move the tour pack back about a quarter of an inch.  I'll post photos if you're interested when I get home from work.

Is your seat a bolt on or a key lock?? It looked to me that there wouldn't be much foam left over the post that the seat locks on to.With the seat off there's only about 1 1/4 " between the seat post & the front of the rack that mounts the tour-pac.Pictures would be great.Thanks.I'm using a Mustang seat off a road king now,but so many guys on this site brag up their Corbins I through I'd thy one.

The seat has a key lock.  I guess the photo's I have are on my laptop which is on the boat.  I'll post them this weekend.  In the meantime I did find a photo or two of my Corbin and backrest.  The seat accomodates the solo mount tour pack, w/o the backrest of course

That's right the solo tour-pak rack moves the t-p foreward so the rider can use it as a backrest.
When I put it on I figured I'd only use it for trips, but it's so handy & looks so good I haven't had it off.

You're right about the looks! I Like the way it meets the seat & covers the frame rails. How long does it take to get used to the seam across your but?

Nothing $200 won't get you at your friendly Harley dealer. Then you can send your seat off to Corbin so it'll work with the solo tour-pac.I had a set up like this on a road king before Harley came out with.Looked kind of like a hotdog grill without the tour-pac on it.

You will have to remove the seat rail and have Corbin or someone cut some foam out of your seat.
