Had a few before getting the SEEG.  The one shown here was my favorite of all of them though.  That was a well travelled bike too.  One of the images above was from Bar Harbor, ME.  That bike was in Baja California, Key West, coast to coast in Canada and even made a few dinner runs close to home.

Howie, if you're getting a heated saddle it won't be an option. Heated saddles require some type of stitching pattern.  You also get just a wee bit more padding to go along with it.

Being able to switch back and forth now between the tan seat (smooth) and the black seat (stitched) I can say I actually prefer the smooth seat without the tiny bit of padding on top of their normal saddle pad.  But it's a very minor difference and both are great for long days in the saddle.

Great, thanks for taking the time to assist in the dispersment of my funds.  ;) What would you say is the percieved difference with the "tiny bit" of additional padding on the top of their normal seat pad?

I also heard somewhere that they are capable of doing dual control heated seats but don't advertise it.  I would have to go dual or none since my passengers are always colder than I am and want the heater on.

On longer runs you can "settle" a bit.  Maybe once in awhile notice difference in pressure points under the legs just below the hips.  But only if you've forgotten to squirm or change positions occasionally.

Compared to any other saddle their firm (in a good way) and evenly supporting with almost nil creation of new pressure points.  Compared to their unheated sibling without the tiny bit of extra pad their is that very small difference.

Not a problem either way.  And having the heat to turn on is more than a fair trade off.

I too am not a fan of the heat. It is however necessary for my wife. I'll ask about the dual controls- this is the first I've heard about it.

Recently ordered a set for the Road Glide and was told very specifically that they aren't offering such a thing.  So at least that day with that sales weenie person the answer was no.

I've had that issue with the black seat for the red bike.  Whether the passenger seating area doesn't heat as much or girl's butts are more numb I don't know.  But the front saddle can go so warm you don't want to sit on it to have the rear area (apparently) comfortable.

Howie, before getting it I was skeptical.  Not after using it some.  Used it for several hours on the trip back from York during 40 degree temps on Sunday.  It's surprisingly nice to have the option and really easy to come to enjoy having availalbe.

The sales guy told me they were better now about more even heat between front and rear then when my black seat was purchased four years ago.  They were just starting to offer the heated option then and, apparently, didn't quite have all the bugs ironed out of it.

FWIW, I like it enough that had it included in the seat for the Road Glide I just ordered.  So for a bike that will have only one seat as an option I chose to get it.

Just thought of something on the dual controls question.  The sales guy told me they did offer it on the big Goldwing saddles.  Perhaps that distinction is where the question comes from?
