Read somewhere here that Steve Phillips, VP of QA/Tech for HD would be riding an 08 SEULTRA with the "fixed" 110 this summer.  Maybe that "fix" is in a testing mode now?

I'd like to know where you read this because this would be an admission of a "problem".

Clock is indeed ticking on the July 06 110's in regard to the 2 year warranty. If the MoCo admits it's cylinders/heads they have a HUGE recall potential, since the fixes, including the 07B gaskets have also failed.  Read somewhere here that Steve Phillips, VP of QA/Tech for HD would be riding an 08 SEULTRA with the "fixed" 110 this summer.  Maybe that "fix" is in a testing mode now?

Too bad you had to go the lemon law route, chevyhd.  Huge hassle.

I did hear last night from a very reliable source that the dealers were promised last week the fix has been accomplished and an announcement would be made hopefully in the next 30 days but not more than 60 days. But they were assured the fix was complete and permanent. This raised many questions in my mind, the first of which was what about the 500 in shops right now getting the 7A and 7B gaskets? If they really have a real fix, are they spending more wasted $$$$ just to get these back on the road only to do a real recall in the next 30 - 60 days?
I must admit I did hear this from a very reliable source but understand, I also still believe in the tooth fairy and Santa!

Maybe the cylinders are made in China- same as the bad dog food and toothpaste. :nervous:

Not a joke really. I've heard that the cylinders and cranks ARE made in China. I don't have that confirmed, but have heard this from more than 1 source. :nixweiss: :nixweiss: :nixweiss:

And that the components are buit to spec then used in the engine assembly. With the fine technolgy we have regarding manufacturing tolerances, HD doesn't need to check these things before they go into each engine. They just assemble them! WTF kinda QC is that? :nixweiss: :nixweiss: :nixweiss:

Wow, I guess ChevyHD is REALLY washing his hands of the whole thing by getting HD to buy back his bike.  He's even removed his profile now!  We lose more site members that way!

A member here had been to a POT (HOG officer training) & related that in the thread.  Do not remember the thread or the member's name, but recall reading it here.  HD is aware there is a problem.

I have had a bike taken back under the Washington State lemon law and the dealer had to remove himself from the process, so maybe it was the same for your dealer . He may have wanted to help but was made to stay neutral. :nixweiss:

Also one must read the fine print on their buy back........In some instances the MOCO can buy back the bike from the individual and they wont have to change the title to a salvaged one. Any MOCO will try to negotiate quickly so this will happen. They dont want their product not making them money. It is a shame but it happens.

Case in point.......Inlaws had a Jeep purchased back from MOCO. Lemon law was in effect. Problems with the tranny that could not be fixed. Jeep was purchased back for same selling price. They found out how to look up the vin number and do a background check on the vehicle and found that someone else had purchased it. They contacted the new owner and informed them of this. New owner was furious. He purchased the vehicle with a clean title.

Just one more thought, On the buyback of my bike there was allot of verbage about me not talking about the bike being bought back and the reasons behind it. I just mention it in case it is part of your deal , be carefull what you say online.
