2008 CVO Ultra owners check in!
« on: May 03, 2008, 08:39:36 AM »

Doesn't seem like there are that many 08 owners here.
Check in and let me know what changes you've made, what you like best, what you dislike and why.
For me, I've only done the FuelMoto package so far and am extremely happy with everything about the bike. Love it!
The only future mod I am considering is perhaps a cam. But, I'm hoping to make that a winter project as long as I can keep my credit card in my wallet until then!  ;)

Nice choice colors! I have installed Bub 7 true duels and SERT [good sound but not much in proformance increase] also put on Kuryakyn mirrors integrated with chrome strip under windshield [look great ]. Other than that I am leaving it alone until we see if there are any issues with the motor. :2vrolijk_21:

Which TDs? The ones with or without the cross over? Also, did you change your AC? That might be why you are not seeing a performance increase.

Add one more to the list.
Same color as yours BaggerDave. No mods yet, I'm going to run it stock for now.

Megavolt here, my mods are in my signature block.   I had it dyno tuned this past Wednesday and posted the results in the Dyno tune section.

I don't know how much of an improvement the "roll your own" air intake and SE Street Performance Touring Mufflers made over a stock SE Ultra.  It pulls smoother at all RPM ranges since the dyno, but otherwise not much change noted.  I do not know if 89.25 HP and 102.26 torque is about what I should expect with my setup.

I like the lighted chrome strip added to the windshield.  I would have liked it if the outer LEDs on it had acted like directionals, but they would not work as directionals with my Küryakyn Panacea Blue Dot Smoked LED Taillights and Turn Signals - which I also like.

HD HID light works very well, amazing how much better I can see at night now!

I guess the next mods may be Traxxion cartridges in front and 12" Bitubos in the rear to make the bike a bit lower, and perhaps handle a bit better at Autobahn speeds.

Bub true duels with out the cross over and no have not changed AC as I thought it would have been open flow already. [what a dope I am] The cross over seamed to defeat the purpose of true duels .

I agree with you on the cross over, but I'm worried about loosing low end torque, so not sure what to do. As for the AC, the SERK has a high flow, but not the SEUC, go figure.

Vance and Hines "true Duals"
Stage 1 A/C
SERT
Rush Slip on mufflers with 2" baffles.......real nice sound, but not to loud
Dyno tuned at 87 HP and 105 ftl/bs torque......enriched fuel to cool down  ratio around 13.5

Traded my '07 Ultra for the 2008 CVO Ultra and I love it.  Still getting used to the new riding position.  I feel more stretched out.  Added the Reinhart Tru Duals, High Flow AC and SERT before I picked it up.  Had a great adjustable backrest on the '07, much better than '08.  This is bike is much smoother than the '07 Ultra.

I'm here ... I have an '08 Casper Ultra that is still stock ... except for drilling out the catalyst material from the pipes!  That didn't give me just the "right sound" so I just ordered the SE Street Performance Touring Slip-Ons from Zanotti's.  Probably will end up with a high flow backplate and some sort or race tuner (if they ever release the new version).  At minimum will have to consider the Nightrider product to cool her down a bit ...

Overall I am so pleased with the stock look and performance that this is probably one scoot that will stay pretty close to original ...

Well, except for the center stand, shorty antennas, footboard extensions, mid-frame heat deflectors from RJS, recurve windscreen, and a few other "accessories" ...
