It looks like I can somehow place the ear buds with the velcro mounts in the zip-on ear muff that came with my HD helmet.  This will allow quick conversion to solo riding.  It appears as though I can cut small circles in the muff and get close to a flush mount.  We were fine with the 1/2 helmets until the wife got a 3/4 helmet with shield for the York trip.  Now she can't hear me or the music.

I use the HJC 1/2 helmets with the H-D mikes and speakers. On the HJC setup the leather earpieces are actually pockets to hold the earpieces. The wire connecting the two sides are held by a channel with some Velcro near the zipper area that attaches the earpiece to the helmet. (No need to cut anything.)
Works great for intercom and CB use.
I think J&M has a similar speaker setup on their 1/2 helmets and sells the lower leather part separately as well. (Not sure which helmets their system will fit though.)

I have an HD half-helmet, the speakers stick to earpiece curtain just fine.  Bought the flaps with pockets for my wife's half.

I have used the H-D headset ever since I bought the SEUC with a H-D 1/2 helmet, I just position the speakers in the (Y) suspension harness then just tighten the strap and it holds the speakers in place over the ears.

Mark, are the speakers attached?  Mines got the zip on ear flap with neck warmer, the flap goes inside of the strap.

I'm pretty sure HD sells pockets that go on the straps for the earpeices. I think it was posted here recently.

I got the J&M's too and tried them for the first time last weekend, they work great.  Everyone I was riding with said the CB sounded great, no noise at all.  A.J., it was the 08 not the 06, I still haven't checked the 06 out yet.

Yes I use the H-D electronics and the zip on leather piece is from HJC and came with the helmet. I think the leather piece can be bought by itself at J&M or you can buy the leather and electronics as a set if you wish.

I don't think you will be a ble to get the earbuds close to her ears if she is using these inside the 3/4 helmet though... they would have to be insterted right on target.

I got the HD "pockets" this past weekend.  They do work good, just slide in the bottom of the helmet, I used a piece of  velcro to secure it.  Used on a HJC helmet, for my needs they work great!

These would be for my 1/2 helmet.  I'm assuming the Y straps over top of these triangular pouches will hold them snug against my ears.  It's funny, I got $25 off the helmet when I bought it so it's a wash.  I want something that's easily removable for short trips.  I don't want different helmets, one with headset and one without.  That way, I don't have to bring two when traveling.  It makes no difference on the wife's 3/4 helmet.  Her ears are covered all the time anyway and the microphone boom is easily removable.  I guess my only question is:  Is this what folks with HD 1/2 helmets are using?  If not, what are you doing to use the HD headset (that came with the bike)?
