What a site!!
« on: May 15, 2005, 09:32:17 AM »

OK, I admit it!  I'm addicted to this site!  First found it about 6 weeks ago and can't seem to stay away.  All the forums and threads have valuable info with no ad's popping out of my computer, no frivolous BS, and a genuine respect for those of us who are willing to spend 30k + for a motorcycle.
After many tries, I have given up on trying to post pictures of my SEEG.  I think I am having a mental block about how to do this! Oh well...I have an 05 2 tone cherry with V&H oval slip on's, Ness big sucker air kit, and a DFO.  I also have added chrome inner primary, adj. pegs, trim kits for the lights, chome lifter block overs and cylinder base cover, and all the easy, bolt or slip on chrome nuggets we all have bought over and over for various bikes.  I too am approaching the 35K mark everyone seems to get to in a big hurry!
Since hanging around here, I recently added the Progressive 440 shocks (WHAT A DIFFERENCE), HOGTUNE speakers (PEZ says HI to this site!) and have made an appointment to replace the DFO with the HD RT unit.  Will have the bike Dyno'd at this time.
Again, my thanks to all of you who seem to be regular "posters" on this site.  I wish this site would have been around in 02 when I bought my Purple and Gray SERK!  Had a few problems with that one, but still a good bike.  Hated to part with it, but had to have the red SEEG!!!!!
KEEP THE SHINEY SIDE UP!!!

eagle49, welcome to the site!  Glad you found us and have already picked up a few good tips on mods.  The site was just getting up and running in '02 when you bought your SERK and it seems the SEEGs have breathed a lot of life into it since their introduction.

As far as the photos, make sure your file size is below 1.024MB, don't use any characters (&, $, %, ~, etc.) in the filename, and if you preview the post you'll have to re-attach the photo in order for it to appear.  Give that a try and if you still have problems, PM me.

Eagle
Welcome and good luck with the new bike. Just don’t get taken in by all the hype on the other colors…. Cherry Red is the best!

You are right about the annoying pop-ups. That is the thing that tends to keep me off of the Yahoo groups.

To post a picture, 1st, re-size the photo. Photos not resized make the viewer scroll across the screen unless he – she elects to open the picture separately.
600 – 800 pixel wide seems to work well.
Multiple pictures require multiple posts.
When you want to post the picture, hit the reply button and look for the photo on your system “Attach” = file name, “Browse” = look on your hard drive.
Note; if you preview your post – you lose the picture.

Porthole, great instructions on posting a photo.  As far as the photos, make sure your file size is below 1.024MB, don't use any characters (&, $, %, ~, etc.) in the filename. One additional point, though, you have to have at least one character of text in the "Message:" box.  If all I want to do is attach a photo, I usually use a period (.) because it is small and unobtrusive.

Dat 103T

What a great modeorodeoator!

And a damn good event planner also!

And Eagle49

Welcome to the site

I also had a DFO [smiley=thumbsdown.gif] and changed for the Power Commander.
Would have probably done the race tuner but don't know of anyone here close enough that has the right experience and dyno equipment.

What can I say, it's a great site!

[smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

And Red is also the fastest color!

Forgot to ask, do you like the V&H ovals? I have a pair in my garage waitng for some other stuff, and I am debating putting the V&H true duals on now when I put the mufflers on.
I was looking for better sound - performance but didn't want to go to loud.

Update: I have modified the "Adding an attachment to a post" thread in the "Announcements" section with these points.  Did not see them capture there and this stuff comes up every once in awhile.

Porthole!

I have always been a fan of the Vance & Hines ovals.  Had them on the SERK as well.  They are a bit noisy but they sound GOOD!  I read alot about the Rineharts on this site.  They are very popular in this area as well.   (I live about 20 miles from the Harley final assembly plant in York, Pa.)  I think they are a little pricey for what they are but people who own them swear by them.  I personally like a loud pipe as long as the sound is right.  After installing the HOGTUNE speakers, I like these pipes a lot better!  They definitly add a punch to performance of this bike.

Wow! [smiley=shocked2.gif]

eagle49, I wanna go riding with you! Man, right off your drive and into paradise. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Warm welcome to this site and you have one Beautiful Scooter there! 103 & porthole did an awesome job in explaining how to post pictures. 103 helped me out on my first picture post too! I believe it was to keep from burning up his computer trying to open one of my pics. He instructed me how to resize to 800 x 600 pxls. They probably regret showing me how as I post a pic just about every time I log on. [smiley=laugh.gif]

Would love to see more pics of your scooter. Blessings to you and yours! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Eagle, welcome to the site. [smiley=beerchug.gif]  Yep.......it's addicting and our meeting are every Friday night at 8:00 P.M. right here........................ [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

Seriously, almost as addicting as these SEEGs are.  I don't think there's another model out there historically, that have caused the stir that the SEEG has.  JMHO.  Anyway, welcome to the site.
