A Marine and a sailor were sitting at the water hole one day discussing the superior service.

The Marine says, "Well, we have Iwo Jima."
 
Arching his eyebrows, the sailor replies, "We have the Battle of Midway."
 
The Marine retorts, "We Marines were born at Tunn’s Tavern!"
 
The sailor, nodding agreement, says, "But we have John Paul Jones."
 
And so on and so on until the sailor comes up with what he thinks will end the discussion.

With a flourish of finality he says, "We invented sex!"
 
The Marine replies,
"That is true, but it was the Marines who introduced it to women."
