I rode my banana home over the weekend and had the same concern as Jimp about the brakes when I picked it up but noticed significant improvement as they broke in. I put 800 miles on it and did some serious stop and go driving in the 500-600 mile range that really put some more bite in them. You might want to wait a little and see how yours come together. The first 60 miles or so were on 301 through rural SC and I played stop and go to break in the tranny for about an hour and 1/2 . The highway was a 50-80 constant slowing and accelerating for the next 300 miles or so. The rings seemed to seat pretty well as I could feel a noticeable pick up in power over the ride and when I really fired it up on the last 100 miles or so. I will be putting the Zippers throttle ecm ac package i received today on with the D&D fatcat and look forward to feeling the difference as the stock bike seems to run out of steam at 3500 rpm almost like it has a regulator on it. This is one nice ride but, as everyone has said, the shocks suck (progressives are here), the speakers suck (hogtunes are here) and the seat sucks for long rides ( I need to read up and find a solution for this one - saw a mustang one on a cherry SEEG in Ocala that looked pretty comfortable). The Airfoil Highway pegs and short offset mounts from HD were perfect for me but the 9" windshield was a little short as I got a good bit of buffeting on the helmet and will try my friends 12" and look for a aftermarket one if I need something in the middle. It found its oil level right at the top of the add quart/bottom of the good bar and stayed there for the last 500 miles. I hope the progressives smooth out the occasional slight wobble as well at highway speeds.
The price was as promised at 30,815, including 300 in SC sales tax, tag and title out the door and the people at Dougs in Florence were a pleasure to deal with. They had to turn the little tour pack lock around and mount it on the right side so that you can get the key on it which took about an hour and 1/2 and one broken lock but they only charged a 1/2 hour so all was fair. They also charged me 35 to put on the highway pegs and windshield but gave me 10% off accessories and 15% of motorclothes so that was fair too.
Stopped at a few dealers on the way and did not find many good things to say so we will leave them all off this nice little story. People were real nice on the way including the hotel clerk in Yulee Comfort Inn that let me park it right outside the front door by the managers window so they could keep an eye on it. Found a cat sleeping on the seat in the morning and had company for breakfast. Overall a great trip and I highly recommend that you try the ride home method as it was one of the greatest times of my life in motorcycling. I was fortunate to have some friends meet me about 100 miles from home and escort me home and they are credited with the new nickname. My Dad smiled like a baby after I dropped off the Triumph Rocket III at the St. Petersburg airport and he took a top gun ride on the taxi ways to get the feel of it so he can ride it alot to keep it up as a "favor" for me. He may never figure out it was really a gift for his 75 birthday coming up which is kinda neat. He took me riding as early as I can remember so he is to "blame" for my two wheel madness. My Yellow Ducati 999 fell in love instantly with the SEEG and seemed to get closer overnight while I wasn't looking. The colors don't match very good though so I hope the kids aren't to ugly.
Thanks to all the posters who helped me out and safe ride to all. I will post some pictures when I get a chance. I LOVE MY SCREAMIN CHICKEN!!!!!!!!! [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif] [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif] JP
