This Wednesday Pinkie and I are are taking off for DC by way of Daytona for the 2008 Ride to the Wall

We will be leaving from Destination Daytona Thursday morning at 7:00 AM with over 100 bikes and will be heading for Statesville, NC for the night.

We're going up I-95 through Jacksonville and then on to Savannah for lunch at Savannah, HD.
From lunch, it's up I-95 and onto I-26 and then I-77 towards Charlotte, NC. The most fun we'll have on Thursday will be when we'll going through Charlotte right around rush hour. Last year, with a few of Charlotte's finiest motor officers on point, it was like the parting of the Red Sea. Those guys were very serious about getting the cars to pull over and let us get through. We were all feeling very presidential that day.

After pissing off all of the drivers trying to get home around Charlotte on Thursday evening, we'll wind up in Statesville, NC, having dinner at Tilley's HD.

Friday morning at 7:00 AM again, we'll be off again heading for DC. We'll be picking up about 50 bikes in Statesville so we'll be about 160 bikes strong as we pull out. We'll be heading up I-77 to I-81 heading towards lunch provided by the great folks at Shenandoah HD. After lunch, we'll be on our way to finish up DC Friday night.

If anyone would like to come by, it would be great to meet you along the way. The anticipated schedule is on the web site linked above.

If you'll be in DC for Rolling Thunder XXI, ping me before Wednesday so we can exchange phone numbers and maybe meet up in DC. Hint, hint Derek.

Yep. We leave the Pentagon lot and cross the Arlington bridge and go behind the Lincoln Memorial and onto 23rd. We turn right onto Constitution and go WFO until the guy in front of you lets off. At this time, Pinkie is beating the crap out of me telling me to slow down.

I'm not sure how far we go, but we cross in front of the Capital and then turn right and go back down Independence towards the Lincoln Memorial where it all ends.

We're going to continue and get onto 66W and head towards home.

Just on Sunday. We are having a family reunion in Richmond this weekend and my Uncle is bringing up one of his bikes.
I know Kathy is riding up to Richmond, but not sure about DC.
