Is this normal ? fitted v&h turn downs to day after 20mile ride left exhaust warm (front cylinder) right exhaust too hot to touch  :nervous:

With the stock header pipes, most of the exhaust (heat) goes out the right side. I wouldn't be concerned.

If you're fitting V&H TD slip-ons on your stock headers, don't worry.  You're good to go.

right side so hot I melted the soles of my shoes to the pipes.     What a pain to get off!

May be running lean, if you put the pipes on and didn't do anything to help with the already lean condition of the newer bikes, then you are adding a little to and already existing problem.

I put a set of the XIED from nightrider at 200 miles, to cool the motor a bit during breakin and give me some time to decide what I wanted to do for pipes sert etc. I am now at 1065 and headed to the dealer for the 1k checkup. I plan on doing the pipes etc in the next few days. Lots of good stuff on this forum by people who have found what works thru experience.

Appreciate your comments, at the moment the bike seems to run cooler according to temp gauge but evening temp here about
14 degrees, tell you what though sound great  :pineapple: :cucumber:
