I was going to post this in GPS, but it said maps only.

Looking for a GPS to mount on my bike, I remembered I already had one in my position. My question deals with my hand held Garmin.   Now that I have purchased my new baby, my traveling has broaden. Including my expensive accessories.

I figured if I can use it in the sand box and plan jumps I can use it for city travel. After doing some looking I found, my GPS can be used for city travels as well.  I do not want to spend more money on another GPS if this one will do the job. Looking at the web I found several sites offering different holders.

Garmin GPS 72, GPS 76, GPSMAP 76 and GPSMAP 76S Series

it is the one located on the second row third one from the left.

Does anyone have any reviews or comments they might have on these or other GPS holders for the little guy? Many thanks ahead of time.

You might do some more research before you buy a mount for a handheld.
using a handheld on the bike will probably be more aggravation then it is worth.

The bike units offer so much more, not the least of which is usability.

thanks,

I believe the screen will be alittle more troublesome than its worth. I look at it alot while I'm walking through the woods as it is.

There are a variety of units that will work good on the bike.

I don't use it but the Zumo 550 is an excellent motorcycle GPS, not exactly cheap but you will be pleased with it.

Look up Zumo in this forum and you will see plenty of happy campers.

I've had the TomTom Rider since it was introduced a few years ago. Pretty good unit. Even in direct sunlight you can see the graphics. I use a RAM mount.

I looked up the all the GPS on the market. I just was trying to save some $$$$$$. It looks like the GPS will have to wait awhile. Others thing I want first.

I used the Garmin GPSMAP76 and later the GPSMAP76CSx on my Ultras and Heritage for several years before I got a Zumo. I believe you are referring to the RamMount RAM-B-149Z-GA14U. That mount will work fine. I never had problems reading the screen except at night when you have to activate the backlighting. A tether of some sort for the GPS will give you additional piece of mind.
