Hello everybody! I just ordered my 2008 CVO Road King and traded in my 2001 Softail Heritage Classic en old 1972 FLH. I didn't ride my Softail as much as I wanted because of the lack of power, noise (loud pipes) and vibrations at speed, so a Road King CVO seems the best option. I tested a 2007 CVO with only Dynalink tuning, SE A/C and the left exhaust replaced by a rightside muffler (?) and the bike drove terrific, compared with my TC88 EFI. Little to no vibrations just above idle and tremendous torque and a very civilised but deep growl for sound. Driving 110 km/h in 6 and opening the throttle almost had me hanging at the handlebars. A few questions though. I read a lot about overheating, leaking gaskets and stuff, is this a real problem or only incidental? The salesperson recommends PCIII with SE A/C and new mufflers to get to 90HP and 150NM is this realistic. PCIII looks interesting because it does not change the identity key of the ECU but is a completely new or overwrite better than the piggyback PCIII? Somebody else told me that you do not have to do very much more with a CVO than the SE A/C get the AFR to below 14 and especially advance the ignition timing since that would be the root of all heating evil. Opening the exhaust valve would even reduce the need for new mufflers. Any advise and/or dyno results for such a tame upgrade? Like to hear from you! CR
