Riding over weekend trip to Smokies, one bike in our group went down with his girlfriend.
Good News is that they were very lucky, and he walked away, she only has a slight sprain on ankle. (wearing tennis shoes

)
We were in Georgia, on twisties, not driving excessive speed and he went off of curve going around 30.
If you are going to miss a curve, this would be considered the type to miss. No Trees, Guard Rails, or Embankments, just very soft Georgia Mudd! I was 2 bikes behind when it happened. His Ultra Classic went Airborne, and flipped at least twice, throwing both rider and passenger away from bike, My wife being a Nurse, we did call an Ambulance to have both of them checked out. After making decision to send my wife along with injured couple, and all bikes but 2 of us waited for Tow Truck to arrive.
When Rollback Tow arrived, I was asked to move my bike for more room to put bike on Tow Truck.
Since we were in a blind curve, I went around curve and turned around at a better place, and came back to find the Georgia Sheriff, with my helmet in his hand asking me if I knew what State I was in!
Of course this being a great Photo Opportunity that will appear many times over, my buddies were at that moment clad with Camera's, and finding much humer. Walked away with a verbal warning, and a memory map of helmet law states. Bike we were told will probably be totaled, since damage on all sides, and beat up pretty good.
Very Lucky!
