I know we had pictures of the oil pan indicating which plug to use, I have searched but cannot locate. Can someone repost or share the link?

Thanks,

VG

I wish mine came labelled like that.

The bottom of my motor/trans was not that clean when it was new.  Much less now.  Suppose if the pic had been taken at night the left label would have read "moon".

I'm getting ready to do the in dash oil temp guage, and had a couple of questions.
1. Does the sender go in the Mag Plug on the drains for dummies?
2. I understand you put sealer on the reducer and sender, but what about reducer to oil pan, and I dont plan on doing an oil change while in the process.

Thanks and Ride safe!

Nope, next one over.  The mag(netic) drain plug is the one you use for normal oil changes.  Use the plugs shown as "crank" more toward the center.

Tanks!

Do yourself one more little favor and visit a parts store.  Among the small hardware somewhere should be small wire clamps.  Use on on the corner oil pan bolt and capture the sending unit's harness with it.  Will save a little droop you'll otherwise have before it can tied off to the frame.

Appreciate it!  Picked up the gauge at the dealer this am, and the date on the label says 7/5/06!

Does anyone know if there's a difference in the newer production gauges and the older?  I remember reading a thread on some differences with the early production gauges.

Thanks!

The differences were visual.  Early on there were three different productions all seen with the same part number.  Differences were in needle shape, gauge face and whether or not there were pin stops.  The final (not quite) correct production was never an exact match to the other small gauges though.  So just take a look at it and see if any differences are offensive to you.  If not you're good to go.

Just wasted a mouth full of 21 year old Glenlivet to wash my screen.  I haven't shot scotch through my nose in a long time. Damn, that was fun.
