reminds me of a friend of a friend who was riding a brand new AMF era HD along a lakefront road in WI - carb fell off, clang clang clang.... bike had less than 500 miles if I recall correctly ....

anything can happen if you build enough engines, 10s of thousands in MoCo's case

but this is just piss-poor quality control.  I'm surprised the thing even got to 900 miles

Makes me happy that I fixed my own head gasket leak and replaced the cams with aftermarket versions at the same time...  I covered thier a$$ on two warranty repairs in one shot...

Primary tensioner.  Of course, when those became standard equipment I believe the inspection cover was eliminated from the outer primary cover.

  good replays ya ll , i work in a shop were there was nine techs now there are three and a 1/2, and the owner thinks he saving money..well the shop had to eat the damage because it should have been checked at set up . well you see the resaut. need i say more ?

Wow. I'm surprised that few techs during riding season. I know that dealers get lean w/techs in slower (winter) months, but it would seem that with that few techs the service dept. wouldn't be able to service the maximum amount of bikes as they could.

Oh, on another note. Did you hear Dawg is going to help install hinges on my tourpak and we are going to have BBQ and drink some Dickel. I may need to pick you up on the way up there.

Let me give you the schedule for the sequence of events installing your hinges

1)  Go get that Dremel and don't play that game that someone sent it to you.  (we are site members, we are not that stupid)

2)  Let Dawg install them. (hide the Dickel)

3)  Take pictures!

4)  Break out the Dickel.

5)  Stop falling down.

6)  Take more pictures!
