i saw the prototypes at the Daytona 500 last Feb. Actually i thought they were custom made when i saw them. These things were parked next to the Speed Channel booth. Anyone else see them? They definitely had Harley motors.

Harley has had this trike patented for several years now. One of their biggest problems was finding a tire that would stay on the rim due to the cornering capabilities.

Are you telling me the Can Am Spyder is a Harley Patent?

That would be something I knew nothing about....

they are using a Rotax 990 v twin motor

No, no, no

HD has had a two front wheel patent, that's all.

Yes, but it can cut grass really fast  :D

I would own one of those before I bought any king of a Trike (and I will never own any kind of a Trike) Test ride one if you ever get the chance, it's like a snowmoblie only a lot faster ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZoom :2vrolijk_21:

It's amazing how fast information can get screwed up.

Those three wheelers are Can Am Spyders with a 990 Rotax v-twin.
They are very awesome machines and fun to ride.
Nancy, Martha, Craig and I rode them at Daytona.
We had a blast!

Try,

The Can-Am Spyder is an incredible machine!  Rotax 990 solid performer V-Twin Engine with loads of HP and more to be tapped with a little tweak here or there.  As it stands, it has great acceleration and suprisingly nimble handling.  Unconventional?  Oh, yeah, but quickly translates to major fun.  Trikes aren't my thing, but the Spyder is something entirely different.

My neighbor has one. He was thrilled at first. I notice he never rides it now.

He's on his 06 Street Glide everytime I see him  :nixweiss:

Agreed!  I'd sure love to hear what he has to say about it.  Never a replacement for 2-wheels (unless health or mobility issues demanded), but sure seems like a nice fun supplement.  We're seeing more and more of them on the roads around here.  The closest dealer is having supply issues which are presently short of the demand.  I guess time will tell, but I sure would love to hear what Brian's neighbor had to say about his experience with the Spyder and why it is now taking a back seat to the Street Glide.
