Too bad for the workers.
it will help our bikes values stay up.  The stores here are full of new and used including CVO's

I wonder if they will reduce production numbers on CVO's for 2009??

I don't know.  I know you are anxious for your new SERK, but if it were me, I would hope it would come in after the 09 announcement date (Mid July) to see if I might want an 09..    :nixweiss:  The main thing is to get what you want.   :2vrolijk_21:

Could be a SERK.  No one thought they would do a Ultra for three years straight

We won't know for sure until the dealer show in Mid July..  I can say for sure that the CVO's are still being built and not be effected by the touring plant shutdown as the CVO's are built on a different line in a different building.  When at York at the end of April with this group, the touring line shut down that week but we saw with our eyes that the CVO's were still being built.  Hope this helps.

depends on the major changes between modle years. if the changes are minimal they will start mixing in the new model bikes into the line. ( so said our tour guide a few yrs ago )

Harley-Davidson plans York County layoff

The Associated Press

YORK, Pa. - Harley-Davidson says it is laying off an unspecified number of employees in York County next week.

The motorcycle maker says the temporary layoff is in addition to a June 30-through-July 3 shutdown at the Springettsbury Township plant. That closing is for annual line changes to switch to manufacturing motorcycles for the next model year.

The plant closed for four days last fall to cut back on production, and Harley said in April more layoffs are in store. Harley's first quarter earnings released April 17 showed weakness in the North American market.

The company also says it plans to permanently cut about 300 workers from the York County plant. Harley spokesman Bob Klein says potential retirees are receiving information about early retirement, though he knows of no offers being made.

No... Really?  Too bad for those guys.  Sad time in our economy for some, opportunity for others.  Even an opportunity for some of those who are seemingly negatively affected.
