Skippy,
I moved your thread here because the board (Power Commander, Race Tuner & T-Max !!Maps Only!!) you posted in members are unable to reply. That board is for posting maps and requesting maps and I believe you want feedback on whether you should get a PCIII. Good luck in getting the info you want.

Any canned "download" or "remap" will at best get you close.  At best.  Perhaps it'll be close enough.  Of course you'll never really know what you're missing.

If want it actually dialed in to your bike, however, you'll want to get it tuned.  SERT, Power Commander; whatever.  If you go this route find a good local tuner.  Whomever is best in whatever radius you're willing to travel to.  Then ask him which tuning device he prefers.  Buy that one.  You're paying someone else to tune with it after all.  Might as well get whatever it is he likes best.

I just installed a Power Commander last week, while we were tuning it we found that the top end needed to be rebuilt.

The cylinders had over heated at some point and were warped at the top.

Tuning is as important as maintenance, regardless of performance upgrades... but you should remap with the upgrades you have installed.

Other folks told me that here... and because I took their advice, I saved huge on having to repair a blown motor.

My biike runs way better after the tune, but like Twolanerider says, go with the tuners product preference... a good tuner will know his favourite tool best.

I had really bad luck with power commander. I have a 2008 CVO Ultra. Four (4) power commanders were installed on my bike. Bike would not run with 2 of them, 1 ran a total of 2 miles, the last one kept my bike running for about 250 miles, before shutting down in the middle of rural Alabama. This last power commander was set at their factory supposedly for a 2008, 110 engine. I now have a HD race tuner. Rode bike this morning for first time, 12 miles, all is well at this time. Will know more after this weekend. I have Bassini 4" pipes.
Good luck!!!!

I know that some were having issues with heat... maybe this is what happened to yours.

Mine is working awesome, can't wait till the motor gets broken in so I can start playing with it.

This is something I should have done when I bought the bike... or the MOCO should have done before they sold it!

WOW!! You are fortunate!! Wish I had not had the problems, because I am "down" on power commanders. I do have Buddies that are very happy with power commander!!
Also the starter, ECM, battery, oil cooler, 4 sets of heated grips, injector, and dash bulbs have been replaced in 8 months. Possibly a Friday afternoon or Monday morning bike!! Thank goodness for warranties. I also had a 2006 CVO Ultra. Never had these kind of problems!!!
Ride safe!!!

I have an HD tuner
It really helped me get the most out of the Samson 4 stage exhaust.  Still no problems after 20k miles   (Knock on wood)

I've had a power commander for 3 years now and i love it.. So far, no problems and I noticed that I run cooler and have lots of power,,,   you need the right guy to dyno it and make sure its done right. I have the SE air cleaner and some Rineharts and that's it. 98 hp and 104 ft lbs of torque.   can you beat that??

You didn't NEED a Harley-Davidson.

You WANTED one.

You didn't NEED different exhaust and a breather kit.

You WANTED them

You don't NEED a PCIII or a SERT.

What you NEED is to answer this question .

WHAT DO YOU WANT  ?

PCIII, SE air cleaner with K&N air filter, V&H tru duals, Rush slipons.
Rolling Thunder Dyno, Joplin MO         102HP and 107TQ.

But other guys with different setups can beat my numbers so it really does not
mean anything. What means something is when you get on your bike and roll
on the throttle does it put a big smile on your face? If so then it is perfect!!

I am all smiles on mine hope you are to.

If it's new and never been out of the box, return it to the vendor you bought it from for a refund. At worst, they'll hit you for 10% restocking fee.
