garage door opener
« on: May 31, 2005, 09:21:29 AM »

I hooked up the opener last month when I got the SEEG, and it worked fine for a while, then quit, I moved the receiver from the wall by the switch plate, up to the ceiling by the opener, but no go, anyone have any suggestions?

Do you still have power to the receptacle that it's plugged into?

Toggle the highs, does the LED flash on the Receiver?

If Yes:  Check the wire connection at the opener.

If No:  Remove the fairing, toggle the high beams while looking at the transmitter.  Verify that the led flashes when you toggle the highs.

If it does:  Try reprogramming the Receiver/transmitter pair.
If no:  Check the wires/connector to the transmitter

If this does not help...time to call the Service Department.

The Garage Door Opener is the first accessory I recommend to everyone with a garage!

If I remember corectly......the reciever needs to be "so" far away from the door closure motor/reciever...mine's is 12'-15' away from motor & 5ft from floor and works from 200-300 ft away and it took 2 ppl to program it, one to push in the tiny button on reciever the other to program/push high/low switch.  I just followed the directions......and pigybacked the two wires into the open/close button next to the man door. If it's hot you should see the red led lit................gl!

Well my opener won't work.  I plug it on the wall (red light is on), then push the button and the light start to blink.  Toggle the lights but nothing happens.  Any ideas?

You may have lost the sendor off of your bike.  It fell off of mine.....they had to replace it.

Happened to see this before JC had an opportunity so catching it on the fly.  The transmitter is mounted on the inside of the inner fairing over on the left side (as you're sitting in the seat).

I just added one to my Jeep...Works GREAT!  Installed it, used an extension cord to bring the receiver right next to the Jeep, programmed it...remember to HOLD the programming button....and it worked.  Wired it to the opener...and done.

Hey all, My door opener doesen't work most of the time just after I wash the bike. After a short ride, it starts working fine. Figure I just got water where it wasn't supposed to be and the ride drys or blows the water out. [smiley=confused5.gif]

That's weird.  The xmitter is a sealed piece, it's in an area that would be tough to get waterlogged anyway.  So I guess I got nothen......  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

If you're having problems with the garage door opener also check out this thread below .  There is some info. here that might help you fix your problem "hopefully".  My problem was one of the pins was pushed in in the connector so it wasn't making contact.  Hope it helps.  Let's Roll
