That's the real deal...not mileage but time in the saddle!

Ok Ok you got me.
Let me start this over.
Since the bike went on the road Monday I have only done 30-40 miles per day after work.

Today I hit the road at 7:15 AM and called it a day at 6:45 PM.
This was a leasurely ride up the eastern coast of NH, ME and am now less than 5 miles from the Canadian border.

True we could do 300 before breakfast on some of our rides, but this wasn't that kinda of ride.

Steve

About 6400 after the ride up into VT and NY over the past 2 days.

How many miles on the 105th SEUC so far Bill ?

Add Jester Decor to the list. We've got a lawsuit now with the city for pouring the sidewalks so close to her butt.

Good for you Bill, I'm proud to know you. And Anne too for Co-piloting the majority of that I'm sure

Also, this is why I put no stock in the whole Iron Butt thing.

6,400 miles in two months working a regular job, dealing with stuff around the house etc etc

And more than likely while returning from Sedona, you logged 1,000 miles in 24 hours but didn't "document it "

In the old days, guys like you earned the handle of  " Leather Ass" without gas slips In my book you have and more

If Steve and I were to have legs that proportionally matched our torsos, we'd be tall.  Terry, Brian and Cheri are just short.

Steve - not looking quite flat footed there:

Me - can touch, but more rubber of boots working than actual foot on ground.

Terry - looks like his feet do not touch on both sides at the same time  either

Brian - from the looks of it, he can not touch both sides of his bike at the same time.

Cheri would be taller if her cup was lighter

Talk to me buddy. I'm 6'3" with only a 32" inseam. If my legs were proportional to my torso I'd be 6'-8"

The way I see it, God knew I was gonna ride Harley's so he built me like a gorilla which is the perfect body type for H-D ridin  :huepfenjump3:

A good seat and Steve will be flat footed.

You can get a lot lower and still have a great seat and when they get the neck out of the seat it makes standing a lot easier.

Limited options with heat.  One of which is a Harley part.  Most common among the group here is Corbin.  Not universal.  But most common of any other single alternative.

If you do go with a Corbin you could order a model for a Road King or the SEEG specific models.  We're of similar enough height and length of leg this advice is probably good.  If you do order the SEEG specific seat tell them you want it with a "nose job."  That's their jargon for a bit of tapering down of the seat where it crossed under the legs in front of the hips.

I have seen/heard some negative feed back on Corbin as of late.....
Is this still the case?

Thanks

If you open up the Corbin website and "build" your seat on paper, then call the 800 number and work you way through each step with the nice lady on the phone you shouldn't have any issues. I did it that way and had an excellent experience. I have the seat I wanted, it fits the bike AND more importantly Me perfectly. Just be sure you ask the order person anything you don't understand from the website and you should be good.

Steve, most honest answer I can give is I really don't have a clue.  I just got a seat from them for the Road Glide.  They didn't follow direction quite right in its construction and got the stitching pattern wrong.  What I requested was not their norm.  But they still got it wrong.

What they delivered was a stitching pattern I still liked.  It just wasn't what I requested.  Seat itself; fit, finish and construction are all fine though.  And to compensate for the screw up they recovered a tour pak backrest for me for free.  That was a nearly couple hundred dollar gimme.

All told I'm satisfied with their willingness to find a way to make it right.  My other seats for the SEEG are also both fine in construction and fit.  The service that I requested on the black one was done in a timely fashion and without problem.

I know of a couple of others bought recently without issue.  A couple more besides that that did have some issue.  So they can drop the ball.

There's are still the best riding saddle I've tried.  Even with the questions about their more recent screw ups I went ahead and got the Road Glide seat.  Once my ass sat on it I was glad I did.

Absolutely.  The more specific direction you can give the better has been the experience.  For the RG I printed out their worksheet/order form.  Talked to them several times nailing down details.  At time of order, however, sent that order form not to them but to Jenni.  Getting 20% off a Corbin saddle is a fair chunk of change.
