Ford Offers No Deals On HD F-Series Trucks
« on: June 24, 2008, 09:41:55 AM »

I bought a F-250 (gas V10) yesterday, I was not really in the market but after I heard the discounts being offered, I couldn't resist. Anyway, all the Ford trucks both 3/4 and 1 ton could be bought for at least 25% below sticker with the only exception, Harley Edition. They want list for them and would not budge, salesman told me Ford was paying HD through the nose on those and if they didn't get list, they would lose money. He also said he doubted the guy that made the deal with HD was still around, Ford probably threw him in for free with the Jaguar - Range Rover sale to the Indians. ;D

Good thing you bought it, With the current way the wind is blowing you won't be able to get anything to work with with that much power in the very near future.

Dodge fired there (hd) guy back in the late 90's and I guess that's why ford picked him up :)

Nice truck  :2vrolijk_21:

Congrats on the new rig!!!!!  I can get you a HD truck from a friend at dealer invoice....    ( better late than never!)  they have offered incentives on them in the past but is usually VERY late in the model year before they will concede them

my connection has been moving a V10 HD truck around the lot for about 4 months waiting for that to happen... lol  he wants it

Mark,
Congrats on the new rig. I own a 03' V-10 F-250. Great truck, thirsty but almost the same as the 01' with a V-8.

Great looking Dodge!  It's someone's "one-off" customized truck though.

That is one damn good looking truck. The only thing he did wrong was he didn't start with a black 05 SRT10, that would have made it one to drool over.

It's a  RumbleBee like 103's only with an H-D logo instead of the Bee. Cool I s'pose, but nothing like the 2003 H-D F-150 Supercrew I had

As to Chevy, Ford, Dodge whatever. I was a nothing but a Chevy guy growing up. Best friend left the local Chevy dealership for Ford so I tried a Ford and liked the interiors, the motors, a lot of stuff. I admit, all my wrench friends told me Chevy's were way easier to work on etc, but I've never been one to keep any vehicle with 4 wheels beyond the warranty so I never worked on em. Still don't. Don't have time to take my Harleys apart and straighten em out and do the same on my truck.

Mark, I think you may have gotten an ex-Harley salesman, since this sounds a lot like the BS the Harley guys throw around. Ford doesn't normally include hot products, like the Harley truck or Shelby Mustangs, in the retail incentive programs.  But that doesn't mean the dealer can't negotiate on the price, it just means Ford won't participate in the discount like they are on the other trucks.  In other words, if the salesman is holding out for MSRP, that is a dealership thing, not a FoMoCo thing.  Ford doesn't care what the dealer sells his inventory for, since it has no affect on what the dealer pays Ford.  BTW, I can assure you that FoMoCo isn't losing money on the H-D trucks.
