The 110 Curse Strikes again- SEUC
« on: June 29, 2008, 01:41:35 AM »

Today with 1828 miles during the dyno tune for the Super SERT install the rear cylinder head gasket sh-t the bed! Another valve maybe PCV like also failed through the air  connecting the booth and intake side of the bike with oil. The service writer said it was the third 110 in the past week in their shop-5 hours later 2PAK who has a twin to my bike with 2700 miles got the same news-that makes 4 110's with gaskets out in 6 days in metropolitan Seattle!!! Allow me to quote that great American Hero- Hoist "WTF"!

To ad insult to injury I am told they have the parts and want to do both cylinders and that will be scheduled Sunday July 7 first opening! Pay 35k and you get no consideration for going to the front of the line-that really pi$$ed me off! The final insult came from the dyno-tech, who by the way attempted this tune at 800 miles with a-PCIII and was the one that delivered me the message that the PClll didn't work with my bike because it was vehicle specific-today he tells me the Super SERT is no as good as the PCIII and the wireless throttle makes it very tough to tune?!?!?!?!? REALLY? :nixweiss: :nixweiss: Before the sh-t hit the fan he was at 84 bhp and 107 tq ???

When  I get the bike back I am taking the Super SERT to another tech for tuning
I'll keep you posted

Capo,

Sorry to hear of the curse striking another member.

Hopefully you will get the issue resolved on the 7th regarding the oil issue, where are you taking it for the tune?

I know geezerglide swears by Jarz Performance just over the border, not sure on their experience with the 110's however.

Capo, there is a PCIII for the 08s.  It's their part number 818-511.  Not new either; been out quite awhile now.

Sorry for the failure and the delay.  Did they say what all they'd replace as part of the repair?  Just wondering how thorough or complete they're going to be.

Capo,

As Roger mentioned Lee Uhrich of Jarz is a great tuner on EI, have had him tune my 95 inch, a 103 and my jims 120. I am seeing him o July 1 to tune my 04 SEEG.

I'll check with him to see if has done any 08 110s.

Capo, sorry to hear you've become an unwilling member of the "110 Leakers Club".  Hope they get everything fixed for you, beings it looks like the supposed "fix" from the MoCo isn't going to materialize. :-\

So the good news.....still looking for that!

The old SERK got dusted off so the 95 degree day wasn't wasted-I left a pointed voice mail for the Sales Manager regarding some love to get the SECU back for the trip I have planned for the 4th so we'll see. Twolane I think I am going to Down Town H-D for the retune unless the numbers get closer to what I had on the 03 SERK-they were 94 bhp and 105 tq-

If I lived closer to either Milwaukee or York I would absolutely park the bike smack dab in the middle of the friggin visitors lot!

So what is the final on the gasket and are the lateset version B or C?

You do know they have feelings and are temperamental.  Mine was pissed at me for riding the Kawa and the oil from the oil cooler cover was blown all back on the pan/tranny.  Better watch out!

Sorry to hear you've joined the club. A group pic of 110 leakers (100 or more bikes) at some point would be some kind of PR.....

Dealer replaced front & rear cylinders on mine with the B head gaskets & now @ 4500 miles since the fix all ok.   21k & change miles on the bike.  Best of luck to you Capo on your fix - it appears at this point that luck has a lot to do with it.   :2vrolijk_21:

Count me in the leakers club. Anyone know if the newly released cylinder heads, which are a running update, will help? My service guy says he has no idea what the change is and I would have to pay $2500 if I wanted them.

I would  suggest you call HD customer service.  My dealer was only going to replace the gasket and jug on the rear.  Based on what I saw here I called HD customer service - by the way they were very interested in my problem and took immediate action - HD Tech then called the dealer direct.  Dealer is now inspecting the front too and will replace both gaskets (and front jug if needed).  The dealer was "not aware" of the new gasket so had I not called I would have only got rear jug/gasket...if you need, the number is 414 343 4056, have your VIN ready...

First I've heard of this.  Got a part number?
