Has anyone tried the Kuriyakan GPS fuel door mount and if so how do they like it?

As bad as I am for looking at mine while rideing, I sure don't need to lower it further down from my line-of-sight for the road.  :nervous: JMHO.  spyder

I have seen it on bikes and looks real good. I think I would try it,   seeing that it is center mounted and makes a clean install......I cannot imagine it is worse than my handlebar mount (techmount)

I've seen it on their demo SEUC². It looked nice but wondered how it was powered. Like Spyder said though, I don't think I'd want to look down at it.

Same here.  Anytime your eyes are looking down, you are looking off the road.  I like the Techmount much better, and have it set at the same eye level as the gauges on the bike.

Seems like a good idea, but so was the Corvair.

I'd rather have the GPS mounted higher. There is an in dash GPS for Softtails and some Road Kings, which replaces the tach, and this is also very distracting.

Ride safely,

Like I said, the tank mount seems good. I saw one bike with it and thought it looked like chit.

Sitting on my own bike and visualizing the GPS on the mount forced me to look down to see it. And if you wear a full face  - I had to move my head down a good bit to see it.

I use my GPS a lot, and really give it a work out. I like it up on the bars, out of straight line of sight but easily visible with just a glance. Having the WO 575's made it even better.

I concur with the general population on this thread.  You want your GPS in line of sight or as close as possible.  I could see that mount being usefull for MP3 players etc.

I talked to a guy at Rolling Thunder who was looking at my Tech Mount.  He said he had one of the Kuriyakan mounts and hated it.

Porthole,
and just what was wrong with the Corvair?  That Monza convertible was cool.....still is.....just a few years before it's time.

I think it was the carbon monoxide poisoning thing........or you died in the head on collision thing.....or just the Ralph Nader thing?

I owned a couple, they were ahead of their time. Properly set up they were a fun car.
Ralph Nader just had a hard on for killing them and won. :o

I used to really enjoy putting 2+ quarts of oil in them when they filled up with gas.  Spreading oil sorb after they pulled away kinda sucked.....
