We do a Fly & Ride once a year....this probably was the best because of the awesome scenery and great riding roads.  We stayed our first night in Seattle and then in Mount Hood, Crater Lake, Grants Pass, Gold Beach, Florence, Seaside (all Oregon) and Ocean Shores and Seattle, Washington.  Flew home on June 29th.  This area is so different than the East Coast, so much to see and great riding roads!!  Next year we are planning to fly to Germany and do a Fly & Ride there.

If you get the chance visit and ride Oregon and Washington, you won't regret it!!!!

Gary,

Talking about snow....we rode down through Washington after Mount Rainier and picked up Highway 25....I did not see the rode closed signs...we rode twenty - two miles down 25 and guess what...rode closed due to snow...we had to back track over 3 hours to get down to Mount Hood!!!!!

Crater Lake had 47 feet of snow last year!!!!!  There is still mountains of snow in the higher elevations....

Beautiful pictures! You must have a really nice camera to be able to take pictures in the sea lion caves. The pictures of Carter Lake with the snow are awesome, we like to camp out in that area but we are holding off until a lot more snow melts.

A great Seattle area seafood restaurant is "Salty's on Akai Point"....  Overlooking Seattle from across Puget Sound.  The last time I was there was November.  The annual decorated "Christmas Boat" parade took place that night...   :2vrolijk_21:

Leaving this Friday for that part of the country, didn't think there would be snow still. Maybe I need to rethink the cloths we are bringing?

The mountain areas still have alot of snow....check to make sure you check to see if secondary roads are open.  We got stuck once in Washington with a closed road HYW 25 and once in oregon.

Coastal areas are a little chilly, but inland the temps were in the 80s.
