Was speaking with Mike (DCFireman) earlier today on the phone.  He said when I was close to a computer to mention this.  Will leave the details and source information for Mike but apparently he saw today documentation for "The Fix" for the 110s.

If it's not just the preliminary fix but is supposed to be the end-all-and-be-all final fix for all things top end 110 you guys are going to be underwhelmed.  Mightily.

Ok, I had a chance to grab a computer to start the chatter.  Whenever Mike gets back on later he can have all the fun with the rest of it.

Not me, I'm waiting for the new water cooled engine from Honda.

New spark plugs? High Density foglamp? OH, I know. We're riding it too hard and using the wrong anti-freeze?

I received confirmation from my dealer today that the letters to customers will be going out the first week of August. My dealer has the document from the MOCO reference the fixes that will be approved. I will post it as soon as he gets me a copy.

Didn't want to steal Mike's thunder.  It is his story.  But since you asked; it's a new rheostatic control for the seat heaters.  That's where all heat comes from that is frying the rear cylinders and ACR harnesses.

Disappointing, but sort of what I've been thinking for awhile. Probably just a bunch of soft parts to better seal it up. Maybe we get our own personal tube of Yamabond or Gasket Cinch too. Woopee!!

I wish I had a heated seat.  Of course, I wasn't even aware of a heated seat problem.  Ahhhhh, the simple life.  ::) har!  :drink: spyder

There's a post on the HDForums stating letters will be going out to 2007 and 2008 110" owners as well. It was just posted yesterday. I guess they are a little behind the times, but who knows, maybe this is for real.

Update to my last post, HD customer just called me back and have decided to replace the rings under warranty. I guess calling them does help sometimes.

Last motor I built was a .0030 over Chevy 350, probably 20 years ago now, but the basic rules apply - never, ever put used rings back into any engine, for any reason.  Rings are too critical and too cheap to reuse. Period.

Unbelieveable they'd have to even think this one over.

I was at my dealers yesterday and he told me the MoCo will be sending letters to all 110 owners on the following:

MoCo will be replacing our current 110 cylinder heads and head gaskets. The new heads will address a valve guide issue. It is my understanding when the heads heat up some are experiencing the valve guide is dropping.

The new composite head gasket will be the gasket used in the future.

New ACR's have been designed and will also be installed.

The letter will be out by mid August.

These parts are not available to the dealers yet but will be arriving soon with the letter to follow.

I asked if the MoCo is addressing the cylinder liner slip. He responded the MoCo does not believe this is a problem. He did not agree with their position, he was simply passing it on.
