Support stickers on yer ride?
« on: June 05, 2005, 04:52:10 PM »

So, I've been offered some "support" stickers by a local MC. How does everyone feel about attaching any sticker to your CVO?

I personally like to keep the bike clean.

Thoughts?

I tend to be of the same mind, but do have a dragon sticker from Deal's Gap on the back of my tour pak.  It'll be easy to get off if I ever want to, and the color compliments the blue pinstriping on my bike.  Bottom line is, it's your bike, so do what makes you happy and don't do something just 'cause someone else thinks you should.

Oh...and my thoughts:

I usually wear my stuff. You know...adorn the lid, the vest. That kind of thing. I often worry that I'll be somewhere, in some other part of the state, or country for that matter, and be delivered a blade to the sidewalls by someone who might not share the same philosophical view as the sticker. No matter what it says.

Yeah, 'er 'uh, Brian,
Does this mean I don't have to pay alimony anymore?  [smiley=nixweiss.gif] The Judge thinks I should.  Please advise.  Later--HUBBARD

Yeah, 'er 'uh, neanderpaul,
I proudly display a "Kiss my Rebel @$$" sticker on my Brain Bucket.  103tHunDer or DJW didn't gut my tires! [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]Later--HUBBARD

Tater

They  (103T and DJW) got up with me about your tires one evening at Maggie Valley.

They said that since they couldn't catch up with you (and they knew I could) they wanted me to paint your sidewalls pink.

I took up for you! [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]
I told them you were more of a fuscia or mauve kind of guy.
Damn hardware store in the Valley was out of those colors.

There is aways the next trip to the Valley in the fall.

Ah Hub, forget the Judge.  What's he know anyway?  You can do as you damn well please.  Furthermore, you can be super proud of it each night as you tell your new girl friend Vern all about how you told that Judge where to go.  [smiley=nervous.gif]

Yeah, 'er 'uh, Twolane,
Since you mentioned it, Mr. GLOBAL MODERATOR, I was thinking about tradin' my current squeeze in, for a more open minded gal.  From your comments about wanting to have a baby, you just may fit the bill.  Of course, I would have to try out the merchandise, before I commit, as ALL of my Ex's can attest, I only Trade UP!  I trust you cannot follow this one, Your Honor, and it will be laid to rest in the "Off Topic, Perverted Archives of the Site", never to see the light of day again, as, quite frankly, the stench of it makes me want to PUKE!  You're a Pure Nut!  [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif] Later--HUBBARD

O.K. guys, you're getting way off topic.  Back to the original question.

Paul, you need to be very careful about displaying "support stickers" on your bike.  If you get into the wrong part of town with the wrong stickers on your bike, you may be in trouble! [smiley=shocked2.gif]

OK, now I understand the question. [smiley=dunce2.gif]  I think it was my fault for getting off-topic. [smiley=oops.gif]

The one on the steering head came as a "hands off" from a friend. I am all too aware of becoming a rolling billboard for anyone. Especially as a member of the media, I am supposed to stay as neutral as possible. But I get someone handing me stickers, or a shirt at just about every event.  And my particular neighborhood is home to more than a few less-than-upstanding members of society.

I wondered how people felt.

Ok, back on topic (whodathunkit around here).  The only thing my bike supports is my rear end.  Anybody wants stickers they can stick them on their own rear end.
