Wear ear plugs , your ears will be much happier, When you stop in to get a TAT tell them to only use 2 needles because they will try to use 7 or more and any one can tell ya 7 needles hurts way more than 2 !  Go see Deadwood stand outside and watch the gal's do there thing. :2vrolijk_21:

There will be a lot of bikes everywhere - all the time - with every level of experience and skill - or lack of - that you have ever seen.  Trust no ones riding skills and assume nothing.  After 15 trips to Sturgis - our riding goal each day is to go the opposite direction of the masses.  Keep your wits about you, ride safe, enjoy the scenery and have fun!

Go to the Alpine Inn for dinner (assuming you are of the meatasaourous persuasion).  They serve two things, a 6-oz and a 9-oz fillet, and the waiting list reaches two hours during the rally.  They also do a great lunch.  We've stayed in Hill City the last twelve years.

Well we will trailor the bikes to Salt Lake, Ut.Thats where my sis & mom live. Then my bro-outlaw,sis,my wife, and I will ride to Challis, Id. where we will pick up my bro. Three bikes unless my bro picked up one for his ol-lady. WE will head to Jackson Hole Wy. for the night. Then to Yellowstone for a few days, slip through Bear Tooth Pass in Mt. Then on to Sturgis. We will be staying in Wall Sd.@ 70 miles east of sturgis.  We will only be there for two days :-\ My bro and sis have to be back at work. But still 8 days and 5 states! Sounds good to me. Oh by the way we are comming from Houston Tx.  I was told to bring thermals???

Leave Sturgis early on Wednesday morning. Ride through Spearfish Canyon and head on to Devils Tower.

Take a walk around the Tower and enjoy the Natural wonder.

After the Tower, head to Hulett for "Pantlyless Wednesday"....now called the Ham and Jam.

Remember to leave early...EARLY...the traffic to Hulett will be H#ll later in the day.

Hulett has around 1000 people living there full time but on Wed the population grows about 200,000.

Traffic leaving Hulett will be easy...everyone is heading there :2vrolijk_21:

Sturgis weather can be weird no doubt freddy

I've seen everything from a tornado to hail to flash floods

But, the coldest year in my experience was just recently - - - 2004

Chilly yes, but thermals ?   nah

Make sure you visit Crazy Horse even if you're only there briefly

Your right Big B

It was nice being cool in 04 but in 07 it was hotter than Haties

The weather can change in just a few minutes....while riding in Spearfish Canyon in 07 it was over 100 degrees...in a few minutes it was 35 degrees and hailing golf ball size hail. Bikes all over the road and people huddling with each other under trees in the Canyon.

Make sure you have clothes for any weather condition, on every ride you take while there.

No chit it was cold. We went to the Beach boys concert at the chip and froze our butts off getting home. Some of our group were staying in Custer and had to do the 70 mile run from The Chip to Rapid and then to Custer. They made it home, but it took about five stops for hot chocolate and coffee.
