I think we've seen some. Is there a specific item of interest you're looking for, or concerned about? Something those of us with no first-hand experience can speculate on? :nixweiss:

I pull a trailer with my 1996 dresser and was wondering if there are any issues with the anti lock brakes and trailers.
I dont want to buy a hitch and wire it then find out the brake system wont handle the trailer.

None that I've heard of. If anything, I would think it would be a benefit, not a detriment.

If they work the same as on my Gold Wing, it's MUCH better. My 06 SEUC doesn't
have them, and I sure wish it did.

No problems pulling my trailer with my '08 Ultra. Brakes perform as they should.  Try to use LED tail/brake and running lights though unless you want to go to the trouble of wiring in isolators.

ABS works fine with or without a trailer, as always the same rules for braking with two wheels while towing.

Have about 5000 miles towing our trailer behind the 2008 ultra.  Have had no issues with the ABS.

Dave, have you noticed the ABS even cycling in more with the trailer than without?  Just wondering if the greater inertia was enough to make the system sound off more.

No not at all act the same, with or without the trailer.  I would think ABS would be a benefit since you can use more brakes while still maintaining control, and then with the front and rear being separate thats even better.

That would be my guess about performance too.  Just wondered if the extra weight might have you seeing a bit more ABS activation with the trailer behind you than without.  The extra contol can't hurt though no matter what.

You can make the rear act up if you want but never been able to feel the front cycle and I even tried in the rain with no luck, or maybe not enough speed (only doing about 30mph not totally insane yet).

That's interesting.  Just trying to extrapolate what my trailer adds to the party against what the ABS brings to the mix makes it seem like it would be a very beneficial addition to trailer pulling.

NOT true! The trailer is added weight the ABS only activates to keep the wheels from locking on the bike - It makes no difference what the trailer is doing it (the bike) doesn't know it's there. The trailer only adds to the total stopping distance due to the extra weight.

ABS only works with full presser on both brakes equal - just like in a car (you don't pump the brakes anymore or you shouldn't) if ther car or truck is equipped with ABS even if it's pulling a trailer, Now if the trailer has electric brakes that a whole nother subject.

If anything if you stop the bike (with full force) the trailer will tend to push down on the rear causeing the front to lift off (lose contact) and that wll put you down.

Thanks for all of the great feedback guys. I am going to buy the hitch and give it a try. Fire Chief what are these isolators you were talking about? I didnt use them on the other bike and didnt notice an issue.
