Just received my new, highly anticipated Dual Touring seat from Corbin today.  It supposedly is made specifically for the 05 SEEG.  The following pictures give you an idea of their quality control.  It goes back to the dealer tomorrow, and hopefully Corbin will allow us to return it, otherwise the dealer will eat it, cause I am not eating $1400 on a seat that only allows the passenger 8" of space on what is termed as a touring seat.
The pics are self explanatory.

Really sorry to read that you're so disappointed and the seat has the deficiencies you highlight.  After the wait for a bike and a seat that's a bummer.

It's especially troubling as your later production seat is so much different than what mine is like from last fall.  All the fit and finish are real good here.  Even the passenger spacing is comfortable as have had passengers back there for about 2500 miles of the bikes life.  On this one the distance from the lip that is the back of the front bucket to the back of the seat is 13 inches.  From the back of forward backrest to the spot where the tour pak's backrest is met is about 11 inches.  All of those measures get even more roomy if the tour pak is off and a rear Corbin back rest is used.

When you speak with them ask what in the world has changed?  Would be interesting to see what accounts for such dramatic changes for items that supposedly all come from a basepan model formed from JC's bike.

Why take the easy road?  I prefer to come

This took about 20 minutes to occur, test fitting the seat.

Is that leather? And do you have a pic of the whole seat? I send it back asap.

This is the way I would have expected both sides to fit

Yes, it is leather, in gray ostrich to bring out the gray on the bike.  I didn't have the heart to take a full picture, was too pissed.  I will be calling Corbin in the morning.  I will probably order the "reach" seat from Harley with the backrests, if they offer a quick release pillow look for the passenger backrest.

My SERG came with a low profile seat with leather inserts, so after 4 years the leather has given way where it was sewn to the vinyl. I treated it about once a month with leather care and after it rained. They want 500 dolla to replace it, I think I am going to send to sargents and have them put in a fiber insert instead.

Striker, that is a truely sad situation.  Did you happen to read the "model" engraved in the bottom of the seat pan?  Our bike should say "FLHTCSE-CVO".  Otherwise, you either have a seat that was made for an FLHTC or for a Road King.

Like Twolane, I never had that fitment problem, either.  Just not sure how that got away from them.  How would the seat pan be a different cut on the left front from the right front.......gegardless of what model it was?  Seems as though you got somebody else's defect sent to you.

Un--fracking--believeable!  I've been a "Corbin guy" for over 20 years, but lately, anything coming out of the CA operation has been atrocious.  Ordered a sole single for my wife's new Deluxe through my connection at Corbin East in Daytona.  We sat at the computer together and ordered the "brand new" model for that application, a plain black solo with chrome backrest.  A month later than promised, CA shipped a black solo w/ basketweave side panels and fringe about a foot long attached to the rear third.  Absolutely the ugliest piece of dog droppings I  have seen.  CA plant reported that they had changed the style during manufacturing!  No sh...t!  Had it not been for my 10 year relationship with Corbin East, they would not have taken it back.  Don't know what the answer is, but Corbin is definately out of bounds for me and several HD dealerships until they get a grip on whatever the problem is at the CA factory.  Trying to set up a LaPera discount connection as we speak.
