I read somewhere that the SERG has 27% more carrying capacity.  Since there's no tour pack we have to assume the saddlebag extenders are hollow.  Thanks for the great pics!!!!

This is carrying capacity due to the new frame.

According to the few descriptions I've read they're glued and screwed on the bottom of an existing set of bags.  Just dead space not accessibly unless you cut through the bottom to get to it.  Make that hole too big and you lose the bond between the bag and the extension.

My thought on use of the dead space down there was a little different.  Cut a long oval hold in the outside.  The long viewable side.  In that oval put in a piece of clear plexi.  But before fitting the plexi fill it with water and goldfish.
Besides the goldfish you'd have the exhaust there as well. Better select some exotic fish, accustomed to boiling water ;-).

You could put a spicket there and keep your coffee warm for the morning ride.

The saddlebags are no larger than previous models.  The increased load capacity is a function of the new frame and wider tire.

I am not at all sure the extenders are enclosed on the bottom.  If that is true it would be tough to store something belwo the saddlebag and above the saddlebag support bracket.

When we saw the bike - it was on the third row of a storage shelf so not the best way to see it, the bags looked really good.  Got to step away from the computer today ---- force myself away it has already been a long day ---- maybe I can talk myself in slipping over to the HD store.  I am trying not to really look too hard. I don't want to get talked into anything.

Looks like I can get the O/B but not until December or so.

The shop here is currently only getting one SERG and I have it. :bananarock:

The dealer in Gettysburg has an O/B one on the floor...saw it yesterday, wow  :bananarock:, very nice, everyone was drawn to it, and it's up for grabs...seems a guy had a deposit on it but couldn't get financing on a $31,000 motorcycle...imagine that.
