I read somewhere that the SERG has 27% more carrying capacity.  Since there's no tour pack we have to assume the saddlebag extenders are hollow.  Thanks for the great pics!!!!

I could be wrong, I think they are referring to weight, not volume.  The saddlebag supports are much beefier then in the past...   :nixweiss:

I assume the saddlebag extenders are hollow...makes for a hidden compartment if so!  Could actually be a great place for tool kits...or something else you would not want authorities or spouses to find!

According to the few descriptions I've read they're glued and screwed on the bottom of an existing set of bags.  Just dead space not accessibly unless you cut through the bottom to get to it.  Make that hole too big and you lose the bond between the bag and the extension.

My thought on use of the dead space down there was a little different.  Cut a long oval hold in the outside.  The long viewable side.  In that oval put in a piece of clear plexi.  But before fitting the plexi fill it with water and goldfish.

The "pool boy" paid me a visit the other day and said he'd heard some talk that they may make the bag extensions a dealer-installed option.  I guess there were enough less-than-favorable comments made about them at the dealer show. :-\

Never know.  But seems very (very) unlikely.  Unless they're painted together would never get a perfect mate on the paint lines.

Small storage space for small things you need to store.  If you could actually access it, even if it was not real easy and if it were water proof etc., could store stuff I don't care about unless I need to - like inspections, insurance, bags of .... well, what ever would fit in that little area.  When we saw the bike - it was on the third row of a storage shelf so not the best way to see it, the bags looked really good.  Got to step away from the computer today ---- force myself away it has already been a long day ---- maybe I can talk myself in slipping over to the HD store.  I am trying not to really look too hard. I don't want to get talked into anything.

The problem I have with this (cvo) Model is the price 30+K, For a 110 engine and custom paint, When for 33K you could get an Ultra (CVO) with four speakers, Tour pack, CB, Lowers.

The stock serg list is 18K, If you add in 3k for the 110 upgrade That ( to me) is a much better deal if you want a bike without the ultra features and no faded picture of a eagle on the fairing :)

But that's my way of thinking.

The CVO Ultra has a lot more farkles on it for 33 than the serg does before you start throwing extra money at it :)

Just curious as my deal's all but done but what does a pair of lowers, tour pack (w/ mount) and two speakers (pods) run? Oh, and a pair of rear crash guards.

Color matched tour pack and hardware Speaker pods and back rest for the tour pack as well as the insert below the back rest about 2.5K Depending on who paints it, the serk guys can give you complete details as they have done it already. The lowers Don't know for sure Also if you want a CB and intercom you add that to your list as missing Ultra parts :) Sdale bag Gaurds (rails) About 200 +

The list grows from there.
