When dealing with environmental regulatory agencies, it can boggle the mind.
Our utility being denied a salt water outfall into the ocean comes to mind.   ???

Dam good!

I have beavers in the pond I live on. The little bastards cut down trees everywhere, but do you think they would take the pile of branches I cut down last week, 15' from the waters edge??? They pulled one branch to the water and left it. Maybe I should paint it with peanut butter or something? :-X

Quantico's training areas are littered with beaver ponds - and right where we had to do our night land nav stuff as officer candidate.

Nothing like being chest deep in water at night, dead reckoning a compass, slipping over wet logs and hearing a totally pissed of 30lb beaver slapping the water with his tail.  Them bastards are big!  Then you would come up on three ammo boxes with chem lights on them and figure out which way you drifted... eenie meenie minee mo.  Passed at least.

There are a few big ones in our pond. They don't like it when we have a fire by the water. I took the canoe over to their lodge the other night, around 8:00pm. They were not happy with me, slapping their tails all around me.

They don't seem to get too close when we're swimming though, which is a good thing.

not interesting?

Jock's wow is in reference to "Whip'em Out Wednesday"

Pennsylvania is a little sensitive to earthen dams collapsing.  2,209 died in 1889 when the dam above Johnstown, PA collapsed after a rain and sent a 40ft wall of water into the valley.

I hope you didn't learn that from anyone there.  Me thinks you were on a drunken bender and raided the fridge when you got home alone and came up with that concoction by yourself.  Since you were alone, of course it was OK to do it in Pittsburgh......
