Wait for the Factory, or "roll my own" now?
« on: July 25, 2008, 02:46:33 PM »

Hugely dissapointed that there was no '09 CVO Electra Glide or Street Glide.
So, the question is, do I wait for the Factory to do one, or make my own from the HD P&A catalog?

I currently ride an '02 SE Road King with 25K miles (all mine), and love it. But, Lately, I've found myself wanting a Bat Wing for a little more wind protection and tunes.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

You can probably get there a lot cheaper by buying an Ultra and making the tourpak removable. Then you get 2 bikes for the price of one.

The dealership here locally was trying to get me into a 08 Street Glide for 17900 with cruise, abs, and security.  They are going to slash their prices even more "aggressively" her in the next couple of weeks.  I'd opt for the street glide and do very few changes and try to do them away from the dealership.  For instance, I had already beat the inner fairing painting price, moco was about 500 plus labor.  I had a local painter say he could do everything for about 325.  Then do the standard back rest, etc.

I think Mikey (Dawg) has a pumpkin ready for delivery :)   Just an option and no Fly By Wire to put up with :)  All you woudl want to do is go through a dealer assist program so you can put an extended on it if you wanted to.

Geezerglide has a blue too :)

Dawg,
Tried to send you a PM, but don't think it went through.
Don't get too excited, but for grins email me the details/price on your Pumpkin.
I have an '02 SE Road King I'd have to sell.
