I think this was the Madison River running through Yellowstone. I would have loved to spend a day or two fishing these stunning rivers.

if you look closely on the right horizon you can see the smoke from the foreat fires that were raging in the North Eastern corner of the Park.

Our first sighting of the Buffalo of yellowstone.

This deep vent hole was known as "The Dragon". As well as the continuous stream of sulfur filled steam it rumbled and grumbled continuosly. Must have been really scary to the native Indians who thought it was the lair of an underground demon.

Way cool.

This was a very active mudpot. The mud was very liquid and rushed out from an underground vent. I never did figure out where it all went after it had issued from it's cave???

Whitetail Deer at the side of the road - these guys sure keep you alert when you know they are around.
