Parts stores and camera departments in stores might have them.  Radio Shack has them too.  It's their number 23-162.

The battery in the Siren II hand unit is an odd one though.  The only non-mail-order source I've found for that one is Radio Shack.  It's a CR2450 (I think).

That is correct. I found replacement for mine at "Battery's Plus" store.

We've got a similar thing here called "Battery Warehouse."  That store didn't stock the little bugger.  I like them better than Radio Shack so too bad.  Then again I like almost anything better than Radio Shack.

Yep, learned it the hard way.  Alarm was set and I couldn't disarm it.  Called Jim and he got his manual out and walked me through disarming by using the turn signals.  Crowded parking lot at the top of Twin Peaks in San Francisco....I had an audiance, but was finally successful.

By the way, the first battery I bought was bad right out of the package, so it still didn't work.  Tried another and it worked fine.

These batteries are tiny things; and cheap.  I keep a spare tucked away in the bike.  That's a lot easier than messing with the keystroke sequence to get the bike going.

Good idea, I'll order replacements, since the bikes 4 years old now!  Now I just need to check the manual to find the siren. I had a difficult time on saturday disabling the alarm with the remote.  I'll replace batteries in both keyfob and siren.  Ride Safe!

What's the battery life on these things  :nixweiss:

6,666 presses on the button. ;D

There's not a certain life.  There's a thread somewhere on this forum about this.  I think some have had to replace them in as little as two years and others have gone four years or more.  My experience was that towards the end, it sometimes wouldn't disarm my bike the first time that I tried.  I'd have to repeat it or get it really close to the bike in order to disarm the alarm.....sometimes doing it several times.

Like it was stated above, they don't cost that much.....if it's a question for you then just go ahead and replace it now.

Yeah, me too.  This has happened twice to me on two different bikes.  The goofy things seem to have no problem arming the alarms no matter how weak the battery, but the double-click to disarm seems as though it sucks whatever remaining life there was right out of 'em.  Wierd! :o :nixweiss:

My siren is under the right side panel, then under another inside that - didn't realize there was a battery in there!  Makes sense though, in case some jacka$$ tries to cut the batt cable to disarm it.

Gonna check/replace that sucker this weekend!

Hello all, well I removed the siren from the bike to check the battery and cant figure out how to get the battery out!  I removed the round door and there is a .25" hole where I can see the battery.  Looks like it a sealed unit :nixweiss: Part number is 68958-00 04159.

I noticed HD has a battery replacement kit, http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/gma_product.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524442270573&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302291023&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302291023&bmUID=1217796431263&bmLocale=en_US

Ride safe!
