Riding Safety Skills And Drills
« on: August 02, 2008, 03:21:50 PM »

So I had my buddy out on his first ride with his Victory this morning, we spent a few hours on a slow speed course that I had set up for him.

I remember quite a few drills, but in the interst of maintaining his attention... are there any drills that you can suggest to hone his skills?

Just came back from purchasing those cute little orange pylons and I can't wait to use them! :bananarock: :bananarock: :bananarock: :bananarock:

I saw your thread after I posted mine... creepy!!!!

I'm familiar with the "Ride Like a Pro" series, they're great, but I'm looking for the "Ride Like a New Guy Who's Last Bike Was a 100CC, And Just Bought His First 100CI Bike" edition!

The RLP skill set is too advanced for his level of riding.

This morning we were working on box turns, threshold braking, and using your signals 101... he still has a long way to go for some of the other stuff!

Saw in the credits that they have a beginner video also.

I would get him signed up for an MSF course like yesterday.

Cone weaves
Emergency braking
Braking in a curve
Starting at a corner
Tight 90 degree turn
tight u-turns
accelerating thru a curve

That's all I can remember from my class
