Thanks all. The 12" windscreen which I added (previously had from the '00) helps a lot. Still not enough protection for touring (I'm 6' tall) so I'll be exploring other options. Reports here don't bode well for Glockworks so I'll have to get into the Clearview threads a little deeper. Mounted some previously used HD mounts and aftermarket footpegs on the crashbar and that was a big help. Also purchased and installed the 4 point mounting hardware kit in preparation for adding a luggage rack. Relatively painless install until I discovered the kit lacked four bolts that were supposed to have been included. Off to the dealer and they supplied the bolts and all was good. Installed the detachable luggage rack and I'm kind of lukewarm on it. The turn up at the rear of the rack makes it difficult to put any decent sized bag on. Parts guys are unsure if I can use the detachable tour pak rack and still use the sissy bar but I want to explore that option before I decide as to keeping the already purchased rack. Swapped out the sissy bar pad for another previously owned one (off of the '00) and it's larger size should provide more support for the BSR.
Approaching 500 miles now and the love affair continues. I'm exploring the lean angle and have yet to grind metal but that's coming. Have noticed that 5th gear is noisier than the rest. That sux because I'm spending a lot of time in 5th. Ran a spell at 80 mph today and that was right around 3,000 rpm in 6th. Should hit 500 miles tomorrow so we'll start running it up to 4,000. Did a 120 mile jaunt yesterday and a$$ was hurting at about 100 miles. BSR did not complain though. Roads traveled yesterday were mostly 2 lane w/ lots of rises, dips and curves. RG did great. Neutral continues to vex me. I'm blaming the Syn 3. Somewhat clunky too. Why oh why do they put this crap in our trannies?  Saddlebag lock on the right side won't. Left side is ok. Will get that fixed at the 1,000 service. Got 40 mpg on the last fill up.
As expected, no one at the dealer knows chit about this bike or the appropriate parts, etc. for it. I do know, by visual observation, that the detachables from the previous years won't work on this bike (different slots on the ends). Was pleasantly surprised to see the paint on the inboard side of the saddlebags. Was unpleasantly  surprised to find that the bike was delivered w/ 0 #s in the rear shocks. Put in 40 # and will see how that goes. Rear shocks air valve is located on the left side as in previous years. Electronics are all working fine and the stereo is doing a decent job w/ the taller shield.
This bike makes me nervous when parked because of the attention it's receiving. Seems like lots of folks want to touch it. I thought that was courtesy 101 to not eff w/ somebodies ride but guess some folks missed that class. Baby does draw a crowd. Lots of heads turning on the road too. My son followed me on our jaunt yesterday and and observed a lots of riders doing double takes on the way by.
All for tonight. I know -  :worthless:. I'll get some pics of some of the above stuff posted tomorrow.

Thanks for the report.I wonder if you can mount a detachable kingsize trunk and speaker pods on this bike.I would love to have hawgwired 6 speaker option on this bike and probably never remove tourpac anyways. :drink:

Thanks for another great write up.  Keep the updates coming.

To me it seems that a lot of people have missed the common courtesy of not touching a mans ride. >:(

I walked out of a resturant one time, to see that parnets had set a five year old on my bike so they could get his picture, his feet were on my Tank.  I almost lost it....

Had these footpeg mounts and pegs in the parts box. Kinda fits the theme (for now). Again, I'm 6' and my legs made it to the pegs but just barely. Knees aren't straight out but almost.

Took delivery to day and did about 75 miles w/ the BSR. As expected we were pleased w/ the ride and as is typical there were some surprises. 1) Even keeping it under 3 grand the sucker moves. No comparison to the 2000 SERG (110 vs. 95). Twist the wrist and you're just gone. 2) Baby is smooth shifting. Syn 3 in all 3 so things will only get better once it's dumped but the 6 speed was very easy to operate w/ the exception of finding N. That was the same on my '05 SEEG so no that will get better. 3) Paint. Was very impressed w/ the color as seen under the florescnets and man oh man how great it was once the sunlight hit it. Gold metal flake really pops outside. Also, RED striping really looks good to me. The 00's eagle head was much more distinctive but this ain't bad at all. 4) I actually liked the seat. 75 miles is no test but clearly it will do better the the stock SEEG's. Will liked it as well. 5) Ride quality was very good but needs some attention. Not sure how much air is in the rear but I'll be fiddling w/ that to see what's what. That aside, we went over several sets of RR tracks, once much faster that I realized, and it handles them very well. 6) Straight line stability and cornering. Hell, it's a Road Glide. Goes straight when you want to and turns very easily at both low and higher speeds. 7) Sound system. Hard to say. It will play pretty loud but w/ all the wind noise I can't really give an accurate report yet. Which leads me to 8) the wind deflector is worthless except for the looks. A taller screen will be added very shortly and then I'll get serous about checking out the music. 9) Bling. This one's got it. Couple of stops and at the dealership most folks wanted to check it out. Chrome looks good (especially the whees) and did I mention the orange paint? Wow. 10) Tour pak. I missed it. Day to day stuff out of a saddlebag just doesn't compare to the ease of the tour pak.

All in all I thought it great and I've no remorse about trading in the '00 (well maybe just a little.) Need to get some serious miles on and do some tweaking before bringing in the jury but have every reason to believe that this one's a winner to me.

Congrats Screamin that is one sweeeeeett ORANGE scoot!

Ride Safe! :coolblue:

Sounds great!  I'm not following you on the metal grinding though, what were you referring to?

I definetely see what you talking about with the backrest pad for the BSR.

The back roter is just a plain old stock one, nothing special, typical for the moco to place non matching crap on the rear wheel, I guess they went with the saying, your not going to see it anyway.  But thats typical, if you look at the SEEGS and SEUCs they're also just like that as well.

SEEGs have matching rear floating rotors. :2vrolijk_21:  It wasn't until the '06 SEUCs they started cheaping out.
