It's been around for a while. Has anyone actually installed it and can share comments?

Why not just get an extended shift lever which is available from several sources?  About the same price and it is available in billet.  Much better (and simpler) option imo.

Do you mean someone actually has a use for the heel shifter at any time, ever?  The first thing I do on any bike is remove the heel shifter.   Ok, don't mean to be snide.  But I just don't know anyone who ever uses the heel shifter and thus, no reason to spend extra money for this option.

I have a pair of boots where the front shifter hits right in the big toe, so I started using the rear. Now I use it sometimes and sometimes I dont. So I think I'll get one of these.

I just wouldn't enjoy the ride without my heel shifter!

Can't understand why anyone would ever remove it???

Adjust both front and rear shifter arms down as low as possible for ease of use, and you'll never go back to boots with warn toes again that lets the rain in.

:confused5:   An occasional application of a good boot polish or waterproofer will fix that, unless your shifter is so abrasive it wears completely through the boot.  One of those motocross shifters with the teeth probably isn't a good idea. :D

Seriously, when I remember to polish my boots on a regular basis I don't have a major problem with scuffing.  Wiping the underside of the shifter peg clean with something like WD-40 or silicone spray on a rag also helps.  I've just never felt comfortable with a heel shifter, and any bike that comes with one gets a little surgery as soon as I get it home.

$55 for a shift lever that should be removed , WHAT WILL THEY THINK OF NEXT. I know how about no throttle cable and charge more .

It's all personal preference of course.  But I find it much easier (and faster) to push down than to lift up.  If all I had was the stock hell shifter though I'd probably remove it and toss it.  POS as far as I'm concerned.  My extended EZ Shift lever makes it soooooo much better.

my cheap mod. :2vrolijk_21:

used a shouldered bolt and a piece of hose. the extra room is surprisingly comfortable and still allows use of the heel shift.

my 08 i simply cut part of the shifter peg off.

just trying to contribute

Heel shift, I wouldn't be without! It's what you get used to that works best for you.
