08 SE Roadking VS 09 Roadking Classic

My dealer has an 09 Roadking Classic in black and an 08 SE Roadking in the Anniversary colors. I am trying to decide which to buy. I was planning on just buying the 09 Classic, but they are willing to make me a good deal on the SE. I am unfortunatly not estatic with the color. I do like the way the SE sits as it is already lowered and has great handle bars for me on it. I am only 5ft 5in and it sits perfect for me. The 09 however i would need to lower. The 09's seem to sit higher than the 08's and you can definetly feel that they are heavier.
Whats your opinion ?????

First you need to assess is which ride suits you the best ? Are dollars an option ? The two you can't go wrong but it's like comaparing a Caddy Deville or the CTS-V. Do the Ben Franklin close on yourself, Take a piece of paper draw a line down the middle with RK Classic on oneside and the CVO on the other and start marking plus' in each column on which bike you like more and then pull the trigger and ride on.  :2vrolijk_21:

Money is not a huge issue, but it is always important. If it was black i would have already bought the SE, just not sure about the Anniv Color. I do like the rest of the bike though. However in C.A. thier are only Anniv colors left. I also like the 09, and i can customize how i choose i just dont like that it is longer and heavier.
Is 27.5K a good deal on a 08 Anniv ????

Depending on what kind of a deal they are willing to cut you on the SERK, I would lean toward that machine.  That being said however, you have to decide what's best for you and your pocket book.  What would they charge you, assuming you'd have the dealership do it, to lower the 09 to make it more to your liking.  What Chrome bits and bobs would you want to add to the 09 that the SERK already has?  Things like that ... like said earlier, put the 09 on one side of the paper and the SERK on the other and draw up your pros and cons of both rides and go with that.

That's about 2K under MSRP...no too shabby.  :2vrolijk_21:  See if they'll throw in an Extended Service Contract and go with that.  For what you might spend on the 09 to bring it up to a CVO, you could buy the CVO and have the tins repainted to the color you want.

Its about $400.00 to change the shocks to the new lower profile, i would also have to change the bars, and get a custom made corbin although i would probably do that with either bike....Then of course you can never have enough chrome.....
I like everything about the 09 except that it is longer, wider, taller and heavier.....

i thought about a repaint, but the frame is gold ??? Yes it is 2K under + $500.00 in free access....

Oh, yeah, forgot that the SERK frame was that copper color.  :-X I personally didn't have a problem with the SE Anniversary color and thought the RK Anniversary looked great.   It was the standard line's Anniversary colors that I didn't care for. It sounds to me that you like the feel of the 08 and it seems to fit you better.  Tough call, but I know which way I'd go.   ;)

I'd get the '08 SERK. You will start off a couple grand lower investment than most of us and the resell will be better on the SERK.
Other than having to take the bike back to the dealer for the recalls, it is a great ride.
I can't imagine there being pipes for the '09s anytime soon.
I'm not a big fan of the anniversary colors but the SERK isn't bad. When and if something better comes along, there will probably a buyer that will love the color.

Since you have already found this site, you already know that you have friends here that will help you spend ALL kinds of $$$$$ to make your bike your own. The Anni's grow on you and really arent a bad scoot either.
