Rocker Box Air Breather Element Question
« on: August 04, 2008, 07:40:11 PM »

Another, I'm being anal question.

The service manual says to press the white fiber element up into the casting.  This can mean a large variable when using something as compressable as this element.

Press it in just enough that it doesn't fall out?

If this is the case the bottom of the element will contact or even slightly compress itself onto the bottom of the rocker support where the two small drain holes are drilled.  Could this keep the element from effectively draining to minimize carrover?

Press it in until the bottom of the element doesn't protrude past the edge of its receptacle?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks,
JPB

Just press it in there. It will expand as necessary.
