I have had the pleasure of owning over 18 motorcycles in the past 40 years and my favorite would have to be the Thunder Mountain Keystone with a Jim's 120 . I loved that bike but just was not good for 500 mile day's. My 2nd favorite was my 04 Road King . Wish I had it back , but someday I will get another one.

[/quoe] In 2006 I bought another black Heritage(07) added most of the same add on's that were on the 02 but it just wasn't the same. I only kept that bike about 10 mo. when I traded it in for my SE Road King. The SERK is my 2nd  favorite.

Actually, for around town and short back road trips, the wife's 250 Rebel was the most fun.  Lightness is a virtue with bikes.  If the Millstone (SERK3) weighed twenty-five percent less it would be fifty percent better.

If I were to choose my favorite bike, I'd probably have to go back to be 15 years old again to enjoy it the same way.  It was a '72 Honda CL100 (blue).  It was my first taste of freedom on the road (well at least for about a 20 or 30 mile radius).  It was transportation independent of my parents.  I didn't have to rely on anyone else to get me where I wanted to go.  Being the scrambler type model I rode it on the street, on trails, through mud, and even jumped out of a few red clay gullies.

I saw one at a swap meet down at Barber Motorsports Park and MDC took my picture with it.  I've had several other bikes, but I don't know that I've enjoyed any of them any more than that little Honda.

Hard to chose but it seems that your new bike just isn't as good as you remember the old one. Mines not as fast and not as good in the handling dept, I'm sure it is but just the way we remember things I guess.

Two best duty stations in the Marine Corps...  The one you are going to, and the one you just left.

My SERK is the best bike I have ever owned, and ever will - know that already.   :-*
