Another Windshield Pouch Question
« on: August 07, 2008, 10:31:48 PM »

Well hello again everyone!!

I haven't posted for a while but I've been checking in every now and then.  Back when I got my '07 Smurf I sold my Heritage Springer (and have missed it ever since) along with my '05 Ultra so I could afford to buy one of these beauties.  Anyway, I've been working on the replacement for the past year and a half and here she is...

Now that that's out of the way, I DO, OF COURSE, still have my CUSE2 and am getting ready for a cross country ride to San Franciso and up the west coast and have been wondering....  Has anyone found a real good solution to putting a windshield bag on the CVO's?  I would like to hear about your solutions as I think for the length of the ride coming up, I sure could use some more handy storage.

Thanks!

Ace, don't know about a "really good" solution, but on my CUSE2 I have the stock H-D two compartment windshield bag and it works great for me.  Bluetooth phone in one pouch and lotsa stuff in the other.  I've seen the bigger 3 compartment bag, but I like the looks of mine a little better.  Have a great trip and send us some pictures.

Thanks.  I was looking at the two pouch version.  Any issues with rubbing on the dash or fitment?

Not really.  The only nit pick is its hard to clean behind it (between the bag and the windshield - minor point).

I put the 3 pouch on my 08 seuc, but thought seriously about the 2 pouch also.  No problems with install and fit.

Only complaint is the hard plastic inside.  I put my cell phone in for a long ride, and the vibration caused the plastic to rub the face of the cell phone, scratching the face so bad you almost cant read the display.

Don't know if the 2 pouch is built similar, but if so, suggest you line it with felt or leather to prevent scratching contents.

Yup, same construction.  I bought one of those clear plastic covers at the same time I got the cover for my Zumo.  So far, no problem with the phone screen visibility.
