Your build date is located on the left side in front of the tank near the forks. There should be a label there with the VIN and a date. The VIN itself does not include a date code per se.

Thank you. The bike will be here next week according to shipping company. I had high hopes for it arriving this week. No such luck. I am curious about the build date due to the problem some are having with their bikes....Thanks again. This is a great site!  :2vrolijk_21:

Do you have the VIN yet? If so, you can check the HD website to see if the bike falls into the "improvement campaign" by clicking here.

edited to fix link!

No problem: Go to the "OWNERS" tab on the top of the page and select "Service Check-Up". That is the page you are looking for.

Here is the memo on the site after I put my vin number in....

There are one or more open safety recalls or product improvement campaigns on your vehicle. The following list contains the campaign number and a brief description:

Product Notice: 0906: PRD PGM:07/08 CVO 110 GASKETS

We strongly urge you to take your motorcycle to your dealer to have the appropriate service performed as soon as possible. Should you choose to ride your motorcycle prior to this service, we urge you to be aware of this condition. Some product campaigns may have expired and you may have to pay for the service. Please see your local Harley-Davidson dealer for further details.

I am calling the dealer where I bought it tomorrow.

Don't worry about it. You're covered and haven't even put any miles on it to develop the leak yet.

Here are some links to the 0906 campaign:

THE 110 FIX IS IN!!!!! Read all 18 pages. Towards the end you will see a .jpeg file with the actual letter.

service bulletin The 1st post has the letter. Read the whole thread.

Just don't worry & ride.
