Put Her on the DYNO Last night
« on: August 13, 2008, 08:07:04 PM »

Put triple red on Ed's Dyno last nighthttp://www.thedynodifference.com/ , rode it over to his place, and while it was hot made a " Baseline pull, It has a whopping 62 HP, didn't get torque, will have charts to post. TB was all wacky, there;s a surprise...Was idling at about 16.1 AFR and up and cruise about 10.0.  and didn't  have any timing in it to speak of...Stay tuned.. I'm running tru-duals with stock muffs and Sharkies...They may have to go, may have to  put my White Bros E series on...should have  a chart Friday. Ed is tuning it with Direct Link

Hey Texas,  I had Ed tune mine last week....he seems very thorough and my bike runs much better.  Your current tune does sound way off...I bet he can get you 85-90ish tq/hp as is.  Let us know how it goes.   Barry

I'm all over it..Final numbers 62.5 HP/95 TQ. Pinging and getting overly hot pulling, Had to take 8 degrees of timing out of it...Just a turd past about 3k, Going over tonight and check for Sumping because  we just put a set of 204 cams in and if that isn't it. Off come the Sharkies and on go a set of White Bros E series slip on's . Just like the look of the Sharkies but I think it's making the bike a turd...way too much back pressure and restriction. Shouldn't run that hot or ping...I'm shooting for around 80 HP & 95-100 in Torque...ON with the show.. I'll have charts this evening....Stay tuned...Greg

Good luck Greg.  But I doubt exhaust is all your problem.  Short of a plugged up muffler just can't see exhaust killing it that bad or causing the other driveability issues you're describing.  Does it feel like a gutted pig since the cams were changed?

Before Greg has a chance to answer, I have a question.

What does a gutted pig feel like?

Well let me tell ya....  I once rode a greased pig, or tried to.  But I fell off a lot.  Then I got a chance to ride the unlubricated variety.  Surprisingly quick for a bareback porcine adventure.  Then, later, that same ride was gutted; and otherwise trimmed out for BBQ.  He was really really good.  But he didn't go very fast on his own anymore :-\ .

E Series installed... DAMN.. What a difference , pulls like a freight train right up to 6200, going back on the Dyno tomorrow to see what the real numbers are..and to throw some timing at it and maybe fatten it up... As far as the Pig thing goes...you all are SICK,SICK,SICK<<<<<

E Series  installed with Seven discs jumped the power from 62 to 69, added 5 more discs to 12 , went to 76/99. Ed's retuning it now , AFR's whacky  and  he's putting the 8 degrees of timing back in. I just didn't realize how bad the stock muffs with Sharkies SUCK.. I think it's going to be really happy now..Soon as i figure out WTF wrong with my scanner, I'll post some charts.. Greg
