Hope it works for you too. Does anyone have another way to view radar on the road??
Yes two ways.
While riding my primary is my Garmin 478 with XM weather. This has almost an live radar (by Garmin standards) screen that is typically within 0-5 minutes of your location.
Works very good. Last year coming home from the National HOG rally on Rt 81 I knew when to pull over to get my rain gear on when I could pull over to take it off (was 103 degrees when not raining) and I could see when I had to get off the road and take cover. I was hiding out at a gas station for over two hours with incredible and scary lightning.
And after that I could check my screen to see that I was only going to get soaked to finish the ride after the lightning had passed.
The other item I use is
www.My-cast.comI use this at least everyday! Live Doppler radar and more. This is free and very easy to use. You do have to sign up for it though. And for $4 a month you can get it on your cell phone. I'll try and get some pictures of it later if it rains. Very worthwhile. Plus you have the option of showing lightning strikes in a loop, good to see which way the violent weather is moving.
