I could have got a bagger for the same deal if I wanted one.
I agree with ISKI, everyone was paying for them, in the last couple of months things have changed.
People are looking at 8.5-9% on lux items, and there are worried about their 401K, not a CVO bike.
So HD sales have dropped, I was putting around just the other day and decided to stop by a GM dealership and they wanted to sell me a Z06 Vette for 3K under invoice (wrong forum for Vetts), but my point is if you want a CVO it is a very good time to buy one.
JUST DON'T PAY IT, because if you do everyone else will have to.
They are not selling you a new heart, it a bike.
The HD dealer 2 miles from my house is sitting on the same bike I bought for 2500 over MSRP, and in a month or so he is going to wish he made a resonable deal with me.
Most people that own a CVO have a bike arleady, so don't pay it, ride your bike for another year until the dealer is willing to take a resonalble profit. That is why I'm not riding an 07 or an 08, because everyone wanted 2K over MSRP and my response was "kiss my harry (u know what)"
So if you think just because you want a bagger it is any different, you wrong. at least in the southeast.
At MSRP they are making at lease 2500 on the bike, and near end of year its even more. That is not a bad profit considering when you buy one that is ussually not your last stop in that shop.
We spend thousands on these bikes and you have to be willing to walk away and go get some female company, it very similar to riding a harley, but ussually a little louder and the thottle sticks sometimes.
Just kidding.
I'm not willing to pay 2 or 3K over sticker. Call the HD dealership in Hickory, NC everything he sells is at MSRP. CVO or not. Bagger or not. I ended up buying my bike from Rock Hill, SC and they actually beat Hicory's price considerable.
Because some people understand that if you treat people right, they will come back and you will make your money, and you as a consumer have to demand it.
Sorry I went on about this, but it pisses me off because these dealers are not doing anything but pocketing this extra money. It actually drives stock values down becasue HD has to take profit loss for the end of year incentives. So by paying more now you will ultimaley decrease the quality of the bikes you buy in the future.
