Had a great time at Sturgis! The only bad part was almost hitting a motorcyclist in Chicago. He was riding in font of us when a woman spun out 2 cars ahead of him. The vehicle in front of him locked up their brakes and he locked up his. Al applied the breaks on the truck, but they didn't seem to do much towing the 20' trailer, so he locked them up and applied the trailer brakes more while trying to steer away from him. The motorcyclist almost went down, but regained his balance just to stare at our F350 bearing down on him. You should have seen his face, I'll never forget it! Luckily, we stopped just before hitting him. The woman who spun out ended up in the breakdown lane, shaken but OK.
Had a wonderful time staying at Pactola Pines Marina. The campground that was on the other side of the lake didn't have shower facilities, so they came to the marina to use the showers each morning and evening. Met an awful lot of bikers waiting for their turn at the showers. Lots of stories and advice passed around. Also enjoyed the evening at Elkcreek Steakhouse. It was great to meet Pado and his wife, and Nige, Jan, and their friends. Really wish that more people had shown up.
