No letter for me but today, my dealer had proposed me to order the kit for the recall and mount it on my bike.
In same time, he'll put my SE 251 cams.

I've answered : I'm waiting the feedback from the modified US CVO  and probably I'll put my bike in December or January.

No letter here so far. But as I have stated in other threads, I had the entire work done already and my dealer was very good and timely, as soon as the parts were available.

Ride safely,

Hi Everyone in euroland, first post for me ever but  i thought I'd pass on the information i received while talking to Harley UK back in the first week of September. They told me that there is NO LETTER going out in the UK ,they are classing this as an "engine enhancement" and as its not a safety issue they are leaving it to owners to either get the leak and go to the dealer to be informed of the problem or if you know of the "enhancement" you have to take the bike to the dealers and they will order the parts.Sound unbelievable but that came from Harley UK themselves not a dealer, the first time i rang them in August they said that they were aware of the recall in USA but were waiting for instructions on what was going to happen over here,my guess is that it might be the same over the whole of Europe so if you want your bike sorting talk to your dealer and if they no nothing then talk to Harley head office, i did and they rang my dealer and told them what to do,they now have the kit on order for me,and now they tell me i am one of five waiting for the fix at there dealership so who knows how many have to be fixed altogether,my bike is a July 07 ultra ,been leaking since 5500 ,now on 8500,Ive also got new discs on order as the old ones have warped ,new footbrake and rear offside pillion footrest as the chrome is pealing ,new derby cover on the clutch plate as the "screaming eagle" wording in red it peeling of,the black paint on the rear cylinder is coming of around the plug and to top it all a new tank as i have particles in the paint that are the size of grains of sand. This is my 4th Harley and my first new one .Am i impressed F**k No  but i just can't see myself riding anything else.Hope this helps someone out who is confused as to what to do and is still waiting on  THE LETTER

Sorry to learn that you have so much trouble with the bike. Have you discussed with H-D to return the bike and get a new one? I do not know about the lemon law in the U.K. (and if it exists) but the number of issues would make anyone really concerned.

In any case, you are right about the "Probably no letter in Europe". I think it is related to the complicated legal situation different in most countries and the small number of CVO bikes sold over here.

I hope you get everything sorted out to your satisfaction. As the riding season comes to and end for most parts of northern Europe, you should not be pressed for time, at least.

Ride safely,
Louis

My service guy clarified it for me when my bike was in for the 1000 mile service.  He called it a "product improvement" and not a safety recall.  Based on that and the fact that mine hasn't started leaking, it'll get done sometime in the next year or so when I go in for my 5000 mile service or have pipes and a SERT put in.
