The Coveted Gold Key!
« on: August 19, 2008, 05:54:13 PM »

:orange:  :cucumber:  :pepper:  :bananarock: I now have one...Yeah Baby! I got home this evening and had a UPS package at my door. Inside, there it was...The coveted Gold Key, in a box, sealed inside a bag, never been opened. I also had the owners manual, three Harley shirts and a zippered Harley hoodie. Oh yeah, I also have a CVO bike cover. Thanks Racine Harley-Davidson....Now just please ship my bike?.........

Isn't the coveted gold key actually a less than coveted brass key?  Seems to me that for the money we've laid out for these beauties they should indeed be made of gold!

I guess what I'm still trying to figure out is how you got the key and stuff without having the bike. All of those things are packed in the Tourpak when it is shipped.

AJ,

I believe he purchased the bike from an out of town dealer.  It sounds like they shipped him the goodies, while he waits on the bike to arrive from a different carrier.

elky,

Make sure you get the tool set also.  I know some dealers don't give it out.  It's not much but better than nothing. besides, you've paid for it.

I still have a gold key. It would be available to the highest bidder :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2:

there was one on eBay sold for $79 or so...

I want the 100th key - wish they made a 1:18 03 SERK so I could copy that shadow box someone here had made with the key, the dealer brochure and the 1:18 model (the audacity of them not recognizing the GOLD BIKE with a 1:18!!)

I'd love one of them gold keys, all I got was a polished brass one.

That IS gold, according to HD.  As usual, you pay for gold and you get brass.
Then you can get it gold plated yourself (modify it like your bike).   :soapbox:

Is it just a trinket or does it actually work - I haven't tried.

Rumor has it there may be a recall on the key , they cause oil to leak from the head. { o no I just realized this could go in a direction that could be so wrong} so no talking about a newkey. :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2:
